So I’m doubling up today, which makes perfect sense because I have a husband and wife team that I really want to bring to your attention!
I met Samantha and Drew Miller when our kids started doing karate together. I was pregnant with George and I loved the dynamic between their son and daughter. And I was pumped to have that in my own life.
I found out very quickly that @drewmillerart was a really accomplished artist who was creating portraits of people I knew and loved in our town. He surprised me with a portrait of my kids a few years ago and some of you may remember when I posted those pictures! I love love love this drawing of my children right after Easter service. It’s a memory that we’ll get to keep forever! He does commission work, and so if you were looking for a really meaningful gift for a loved one? This is your guy! New babies? A proposal? The loss of a loved one? I just can’t say enough about having pieces of art like this in your home.
Now, Samantha uses her art very differently! She is a total mama bear and has the innate instinct to take care of everyone around her. This was an exciting week on so many levels. Wedding anniversary. Book release. My kids started theatre. Lots of press for Grimoire Girl. And in the midst of all of it I got some ideas for my next book that I REALLY want to sit down and work on.

Seriously, my child LOVES this stuff, and so do I. We’ve gone through multiple bottles at this point. Every bathroom in my house is now stocked with Kitsie’s magical soaps and mists and lotions. It feels like I’ve been transported to Sally Owens shop.

I had rushed the entire day getting ready to be on the road all weekend. Show tonight in Boston. Show on Saturday in Virginia. There’s laundry. Unpacking from last week in the city. Packing right back up again. Gus had theater. Dinner had to be made. The back-and-forth from the farm to town seemed endless.
And then I got a text message from my team. “Can you talk?”

I had trouble taking it in.

We’ve had the @themischieffarm account for a while now. I’d originally set it up to profile the farm and our animals. But my plate is FULL and I was really struggling to create content over there. So on Day 6 of “creative things I wanna share cause they make the world better”, I’m combining the two!
We’ve had the @themischieffarm account for a while now. I’d originally set it up to profile the farm and our animals. But my plate is FULL and I was really struggling to create content over there. Well m’lady Tara is one of the most creative brains I know, and a brilliant program director who understands how to make the arts accessible and current.
