There’s nothing like it. Can’t wait to cover another NHL season. From covering @queensgaels & the @ohlofficial on TV Cogeco, shotlisting games on @hockeynight (including the time I dressed up for Halloween and absolutely nobody – nobody – else did), working with the @nhlbruins scouting combine, covering the WHL on @ctvregina, doing a documentary on Ryan Murray (one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done in my career) mixing in some NHL on the prairies, to hosting @lakings games, covering the Stanley Cup for @fs1, talking pucks on @sportscenter, spending 3 glorious years with the @anaheimducks, covering the playoffs for @nhlontnt, hosting two shows for the @nhl and having my own NHL segment on @snytv, the journey has been absolutely incredible. Writing all that, I can’t believe how incredibly lucky I’ve been.
It’s amazing seeing some of these players who I used to shoot highlights of in midget AAA hoist the Stanley Cup. From the scouts to the equipment managers, arena staff, trainers, PR staff, assistant coaches, head coaches, GMs, owners, and every broadcaster & TV truck in North America that I’ve had a few wobbly pops with, I’ve enjoyed every second of it.
I can’t wait to cover this incredible game again this year.

To find what moves you, you need to know who you are first. There’s no shortcut to doing the work. It might be hard at first to peel back the layers, but it will help you remember who you are. Who was that kid inside of you? What did they dream of? What made them laugh and light up? 💡
There’s such beauty in rediscovering what ignites us inside, which can often be buried beneath years of self-sabotage – perceived failure, regret, life changing events, comparison, or feeling like you’re not good enough.
But the magic is still there. I know, because I’ve felt it, even on the darkest of days.✨

Sometimes hearing “no” is what’s leading you to “yes.”
Perceived failure or rejection isn’t final. It’s feedback. It’s redirection. I heard @melrobbins classify “no” as “next opportunity.”
I’ve had my share of setbacks, but it’s only made me want it more. No has made me more resilient. More discerning on what I need to do to be better. Be more creative. Be more resourceful.
Sometimes things will happen that are beyond your control. Someone might not hire you or like you because of their own subjectivity bias (s/o @aliciamenendezxo book “The Likability Trap” highly recommend). But perceived failure is not personal, it’s not final.
In my first meeting with my therapist, she asked me, “do you think your career is successful” and I laughed. I said, “yes, I do… I am so grateful and lucky to have experienced what I have and to have so many more goals. But I’ve failed more than I’ve succeeded. I’m still standing because I didn’t let the rejection or closed doors knock me down.”
I’ve only heard “yes” a few times in my career. But I wouldn’t have even heard it once if I let the no’s stop me.
Whatever perceived rejection (and I keep saying perceived because rejection can be a gift or opportunity to redirection) you’re dealing with, know that nobody would find success in their life if they didn’t hear no.
No is an opportunity.
