The collections themselves When have you seen collections, looking at which you would say “Wow, I’ve never seen something like that before”? Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything new at the fashion week in Paris. There was a lot of “borrowing” from other designers, the clothing elements in the collections didn’t resonate with one idea, there was no feeling of a “whole” picture. 2. The way shows are organized No wow effect at the shows. They were organized in the same palaces, the same people attended them. And actually no one cares about the designer. I heard influencers talking to each other about how bored they were with all these shows, and then they opened their Instagram and were like, “Wow, we’re so glad to attend this show.” This won’t surprise anyone, and the audience feels how fake it is. Shows must be viral and interesting to reach the public. And they will reach the audience only if the people, who attend the show, post a truly incredible show. The division into rows is not what should be done in 2023. There should be one row, making everyone equally important. I value all the people who come to my show and I am equally happy to see them. And I think that most likely there will be a dress code for my show. I saw a guy who came to a wedding show in some kind of BDSM costume. I think it is inappropriate, since it spoils the content and image of the brand. 3. Fewer influencers The more I interact with fashion influencers, the more, pardon me, I get sick of them. Especially when you start talking to them or listening to them talk. They mock the audience, the designer, and generally behave in a very ungrateful way. And I don't want to sponsor an industry that has too much money and ego. People who will promote my brand and who will be the faces of my brand = my audience, or people who inspire me. But not because of how skinny and cool they are, but because they bring something on the table for society. Paris, France

Polina Pushkareva Instagram – Paris fashion week done: my key take-aways and plans

I was watching 8 shows and found out tricks that I will definitely use at the presentation of my brand in February 2024

1. The collections themselves

When have you seen collections, looking at which you would say “Wow, I’ve never seen something like that before”? Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything new at the fashion week in Paris. There was a lot of “borrowing” from other designers, the clothing elements in the collections didn’t resonate with one idea, there was no feeling of a “whole” picture.

2. The way shows are organized

No wow effect at the shows.

Polina Pushkareva Instagram – The reality of fashion-week from the POV of a PR agent/How I see the reality of fashion week as a PR agent

Now I’m at the fashion week in Paris together with my 6 social media clients. And 3 of them are participants of the summer social media camp.

All these influencers are beginners in this industry, and that is their first fashion week ever. Despite the fact that these guys have been managing their socials for only 2-6 months. For influencers, and especially fashion influencers, it is really important to participate in fashion weeks.

Why?

1. You get press, get shot in street style, attend and show yourself at events. Your photos end up to be published in Vogue, Elle Girl, etc. = you get good PR.

2. You create content. When you post content from a fashion week, your reach boosts because everyone is interested and everyone is watching.

3. You get to know new people and pave your way to paid collaborations. Most brands don’t pay influencers at fashion weeks. Usually they just provide clothes and invitations, and influencers agree to work just for getting it. But the funny point is that when you’ve already collaborated with Dior, H&M is ready to pay you more just because you have a cool personal brand.

What do I do as a PR agent?

Every night I prepare a plan for the day for each client (swipe left to check it out). There they can find a schedule of shows and who will attend them. My recommendations on which people to get to know, which photographer to pose for, how to get to know a brand and what to say in an interview + I provide them with a content plan with trendy topics for TikTok and Instagram.

P.S. But I also have an additional task – to see how large and mid-sized brands organize shows and events. And then I can use this information to present my own brand, which I hope y’all are really looking forward to 💅 Paris, France
