Today it hit hard. One of the hardest throws for Cheryl and I as we announced to our viewers the show is coming to an end.
Today our ETC family, hugged, cried and just in a state of shock.
But there were moments of reminiscing and laughter…so next week on our last few days we will celebrate. Thursday Oct 5th will be our last day in studio and we are going to do a look back…a chance to reflect on the incredible ride we had,

Well, today is going to be a day…not the usual #FITNESSTUESDAY
After an unexpected emotional ‘holy-shit-r-u-serious’ week. On the day the team found out about the ending of our show, I was having my pre-op appt yup, I’m having surgery❤️
A while back I talked about a lump on my thyroid. Everything seem to be fine after the biopsy but as it continued to grow I saw a specialist – so for someone like me who doesn’t have thyroid disease and recent findings of ‘suspicious elements’ within the nodule, I need to take this sucker out…
Here’s to a quick recovery and to a successful surgery. Wish me luck, I got this, I’m the GEETS 💪🏽😊

I feel like a marshmallow! I would say this is the best selfie I’ve taken…even though it looks like I took a good southpaw hook😊
Surgery took 4 hours, eek rather than two, made me nervous that there was more involved but it went really well – now we wait for the pathology report.
THANK YOU to the incredible team at Toronto Western you took such good care of me from the moment I arrived to leaving. Nurse Layna made me giggle she said I look 31 😊
My surgeon was absolutely the best, his kindest put me at ease before the surgery.
He is the only Canadian doc who does the TOETVA (Transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach) which is through the mouth and not the neck – insane technology.
Success, hope to heal quickly, hit the gym, have a Big Mac, lol
And thank you for the love, it’s uplifting. Means a lot ❤️

Peeps, healing process has been really good. Today was a turning point for me as my chest is doing so much better.
My swelling/bruises and stitches are healing (last photo shows the neck is a bit green and the most I can smile) I’m talking a lot more – hmm, I think it’s the tub of ice-cream I’ve been eating everyday has been helping (btw cappuccino ice cream with chocolate bits is now my fav)🥰

Use this sauce with either chicken, turkey, peas and paneer OR mac and cheese, yup!
INGREDIENTS
* 2 tbsp vegetable oil
* 2 onions, chopped
* 3 tbsp chopped ginger
* 6 garlic cloves, crushed
* 1 can of diced tomatoes
* 1/2 cup coconut milk
* 1 cup of water
* 2 tbsp almond butter
* 2 tbsp brown sugar
* salt, to taste
SPICES
* 1 tsp turmeric
* 1 tsp ground coriander
* 1 tsp ground cumin
* 1 tsp chili powder
* 1 tbsp Garam Masala
* 4 cardamom pods (seeds)

My check-up appt is tomorrow after that look out, ‘The Geets’ is hitting the gym 💪🏽
I just have to remind myself to start slow – and not to lift too heavy.
Crazy, it’s been one week since surgery…I’m grateful in so many ways❤️
