I am honored to announce that I have been awarded the Lisa Runnels-Shelton Emerging Artist Award for 2021. Brother filmmaking team Mark and Greg Runnels created this annual award in memory of their sister, Lisa Runnels-Shelton. Lisa executive produced a documentary that the Runnels Brothers directed called STAGE 4: BRAVING UNCERTAINTY about her and two other people’s journeys living with a terminal disease. I had the pleasure of working with Mark and Greg on my very first feature film YOUTHANASIA. To know that these seasoned filmmakers believe in me and in SISSY fuels me with even more purpose. Through this film, I will honor Lisa’s bravery and work even harder to make the Runnels brothers and everyone who has supported this project proud. We are in the final hours of fundraising. We are proud to announce that MOM will be premiering at the LA Shorts International Film Festival! LA Shorts International Film Festival ranks among the most prestigious and largest short film festivals in the world. The festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain. Now in its 26th year, LA Shorts is the longest-running short film festival in Los Angeles. MOM will be opening the festival. We would love for you to join us at the screening on Thursday, July 21st at 1pm at the Laemmle NoHo Theater. There will be a brief Q&A with the directors following the films.
