Sugar Lyn Beard Instagram - #eulogycontent4sug I painted this for my grade 12 final project - it was part of a series that I called “hidden sexuality”, this piece is called “Adam & Eve”. I went to a catholic school ( @ pjpIIhsscarborough ❤️u ) and all of the pieces in this series were banned from being hung in the halls with those of the other graduates. Another piece in my series was two sided and portrayed a girl with one foot on a stack of school books, including a bible, on the backside you couldn’t see the spines of the books and her uniform - knee high socks, kilt - was perfect… on the other side she had her kilt pulled up and her hand on her pumpum with a euphoric face. I wasn’t mad the school banned them (duh), I was more focused on the fact that my art teacher, Mr. Whitebread (miss you) embraced them, and me, and celebrated creation and expression in all shapes and forms. His acceptance of me gave me a seed of freedom and support that I’ve never let go of. How beautiful. ❤️
