Last year same day. Ponniyin Selvan was seen by crores of people across the world. One of the best moments in our film career. To see something real something honest and work of passion with out any box office agenda was unanimously celebrated by the audience of all generations. Many records were broken. Some of them touched our hearts and soul. Youngsters bringing their parents from far away cities to let them see their favourite kalki novel on imax screen in Chennai. Most wheel chairs rolled towards the screens. People who did not step into a movie hall for over 39 years returned. Block bookings of 30 and 50 and 100 were made. Cinema halls saw a film complete 100 full days after decades . Young Indians started reading history to learn about our kingdoms. Children heard pure thamizh spoken and loved it. Many children dressed up like the kings queens of the film. The heritage history culture and pride took center stage. It was this day and date last year all that we experienced.
