In June I had a plan. I knew what I wanted. What my summer would look like. Then the universe was like…. “that’s super great that that’s what YOU want….but I’m the universe and I decide what you need.” Anyway turns out I needed these cute sunglasses, lots of different lakes, time with my kids and husband and time with close friends. Can’t fight the universe. Just gotta go with the flow baby!! The most beautiful thing about getting older is having a chance to be reunited with people who made a huge impact on your life years later….and getting to hug them, and thank them, and truly appreciate the small moments in the journey of this darn tootin” life. This is @paradepicturesworldwide (David Warry-Smith). We recently got to work together and did that “What did we work on together???” Thing. WELLLLLLLLLL – David gave me my VERY FIRST ACTING JOB! On a long forgotten show called Two that he was directing. I was originally auditioning for a smaller role, and after I read David said he wanted me to go out in the hall for 20 min and learn the sides for the guest star. (This was like a super big deal for me at the time). I got the part. I’ll never forget calling my parents and screaming into the phone I GOT THE PART!!!!!! Which remains a long running joke between me and my parents. Getting this part completely changed the course of my life and my career. Getting to see David and tell him that story….and how what was likely an insignificant moment in his life had a massive impact on mine was honestly such a perfect full circle moment for me. We don’t always get that chance . Forever and ever beyond grateful. . THANK YOU DAVID!!!!!!!!!
I struggle big time w fun rest day ideas – I have a hard time finding that chill zone. Got inspired by a friend to use my sliders and forgot how much fun it is! Don’t have sliders? Just use two towels! (I used two pillows at one point cause it hurt my knees 😆) Went on YouTube and did the ol’ search and so many workouts were available. This was from @redefiningstrength A great zero impact core and stability session that anyone can do w a couple towels and a non carpeted surface. Friday night in – dinner for two. I mean, I don’t know why I bother going out for dinner when this is what gets made for me on the regular. Sous vide marbled cod (from @mikesfishmarket ) w a basic Prosecco cream sauce w caviar on a citrus fennel salad. Topped w pink peppercorns. THE MOST FUN EVER with @wine_tours_pec !!!!! So genius….can’t make it to the County? (Prince Edward County lol)….the county now comes to YOU! One of my favourite things to do is head to Prince Edward County w friends and do a wine tasting tour….only problem is that logistically that’s not always easy to do. Chris was clearly in my brain because now…..he BRINGS the county tasting to YOU! The wine tasting IN YOUR HOME!!! All you need to do is invite your friends and show up. He takes care of everything!!! We had 11 wines, 3 ciders and 2 beers. All PEC wineries. Chris has been in the county forever and is not only hilarious but has a ridiculous amount of knowledge to share. Thank you so much Chris (@wine_tours_pec ) for such an amazing evening!!!!!! Also you’re welcome for the best holiday/birthday/bachlor(ette) party idea.
