Haunted Hotel 👻
For the floorshow we had to create a look for a ghost that resides in a hotel.
I chose to be a lady that checks herself into a hotel….but never really leaves.
In fact the idea was that she wasn’t even aware that she was dead.reliving her final moments over and over again until the final shot where she discovers the massive hole in the back of her head.
I decided she would dress for the occasion.A glamorous corpse in all her finery.
I wanted all of the gore(in a glitzy glam way of course)in the back AS A REVEAL for a lingering horror.
Sadly I fear that was lost on the editing floor.Booo!Good thing for social media though eh?!

3.Red
The two things that fascinate people most are #Sex and #death.The creation of life and the secret to life nobody wants to know.
i wanted to represent red with blood.It has the same duality as Life in that it is paired with death.
As a gay man growing up in the 80’s with the aids epidemic…. whenever i thought about sex i immediately thought about death and i thought about blood.My blood.i worried about being infected and i worried about dying.There wasn’t enough education and a lot of misinformation.
Luckily in this country we now live in a time when the virus can be well managed with the right medication and hopefully a cure is in sight.Death is no longer a worry and a full and healthy life can be achieved.Things are not that scary anymore.What we need to get rid of now within the community is the Stigma people with HIV still recieve.We have prep available and people that are adhering to medication can become undetectable and undetectable equals untransmitable.#uequalsu
I shall be supporting the fabulous@georgehousetrust on the float this year at @manchesterpride who do an amazing job and provide a fabulous service for people living with the virus.

For this floorshow I wanted to do a play on my own name and own drag aesthetic.And in Manchester I have a few friends that call me ‘Anna Banana’ so I thought this would be a cute homage to that and also to the 80’s trading cards.
I wanted to be bright/cartoony but with a macabre twist.
like a waitress serving up a banana split but eventually takes her own skin off.🍌
On paper I think the concept worked but in reality…well it just didn’t.
I’ve been putting a brave face on it(tehe)but this was a major fail.
But… that happens sometimes in performance…things go wrong….this just happened to be on a massive platform *shudders*
Anyhoo it’s not how you fall but how you pick yourself (and your wig and face prosthetic)back up again.
We all slip up sometimes right?!🤪

TERROR IN THE WOODS
With this floorshow I wanted to call upon folklore and stories of old…and bring a little bit of Lancashire with me across the pond.
Jenny Greenteeth a.ka Wicked Jenny is a figure from folklore, a river hag.she would often drag children and the elderly into the water to drown them.She would sometimes be found in the branches of trees singing her song….
she is described as having long hair,long fingers,green skin and sharp teeth…
The name is also used to describe duckweed which forms a green mat on top of the water making it look like grass(potentially treacherous and misleading to children)
It was a real labour of love and team effort and I spent (possibly too long) dying pieces of lace to use as moss,ageing up and weathering the dress…covering in liquid latex and adding bits of the forest that she had pulled with her from the lake)
Many thanks to @liquorice_black who helped me clean up,actually demould( before adding fake mould) and put together an old wedding dress that had had many other incarnations previously 🖤

In the murky depths of rotten lakes,
Near where the bullrush meets the breaks,
She sits and watches,
lurks and waits,
For you to make your last mistake,
She’s always there in water found and has been since the day she drowned.
And there she stays, planning deeds
that will yield up her yearly feed.
Some call her witch or waterhag with a bloated face,her skin all sag
her fingers search for necks to scrag…her teeth as sharp as a broken crag.
She likes to sing her cunning song,a tune so soft it might belong to some sweet bird and it prolongs,so you won’t know that somethings wrong.
She lulls folk to the waters face with soft and soothing melodious grace and waits until your in the place…..that she can spring her cold embrace!
