It took four years of protests and meetings but yesterday we got the office of gun violence prevention and march for our lives former staff member and now first Gen Z member of congress @maxwellfrostfl introduced the president. Biden is listening to us and to continue the progress we have to show up in 2024
It feels so fucking good to win. Congrats @NadariusClarkVA leaders we deserve is proud to have you as our first elected canidate. He is now the youngest person in the Virginia state legislature.

Electing a trans woman in the Deep South was always going to be an up hill battle. Sylvia Swayne ran a hell of a campaign and Leaders We Deserve was proud to support her. Unfortunately she did not win tonight. While she may have been the first openly transgender person to run for office in Alabama state history but she won’t be the last. Our job is to help elect young people in the places they are needed most. They won’t always win but they can always try again. We were with Sylvia on the campaign and will be with her after. While losing sucks- accepting the results of elections is essential to a functioning democracy.

She’s running to expand gun laws, expanding Medicare and Medicare, and protect a woman’s right to choose. She is expected to have less than 2000 people vote in this election. So every vote counts.
