Gabriel Luna Instagram – I was about to hit the hay last night and jumped on this app to check in on folks back home whem I received a message from my Dubliner friend @paulina.lyonss saying that there is a The Last of Us inspired bar here in Edinburgh. I discovered the place is called @thecocktailgeeks and that they do a pop culture themed reconfiguration of their whole bar every 4 months. They are in their last few weeks of the TLOU installment so I immediately got dressed and walked down there. I didn’t know what to expect but when I arrived but I was thoroughly impressed! Their DIY cordyceps infested decor and the detail and consideration in their cocktail menu was incredible! Drinks called “Acquired Taste” which was a coffee infused whiskey drink in a blue tin cup that had an iced cube in it that was imprinted with a broken watch face. There was the “Pancake Mix” which was a pecan infused vodka with maple syrup, milk and cream so Tommy finally got his pancake fix. Also, “The Long Long Time”, which had me getting emotional with its fermented strawberries. The Owners Rachael and Linden and their team truly thought of everything. I mingled with the patrons a bit and got a kick out if their faces whem they figured it out. 😂It was all was so fantastic that I had to get @druckmann on the horn to show off the joint. He was so sweet to the owners and staff and had them all buzzing. Awesome experience all around! If you get the chance, visit them there on East Market Street. Their next project will be geared towards a certain 2 NYC plumbers who also have a familiarity with mushrooms.
