I’m so honored. These people are such idiots. This was twenty years ago. Get a life lady.
Michael Urie and I at today’s Broadway Flea Market. I did not get his autograph but, believe me, I’ve got his number!
This king size quilt is part of the silent auction on November 4th benefitting The Ridgefield Playhouse. The evening featuring a performance by Itzak Perlman is sold out but… I will post a link when I get it for anyone not attending who’d like to make a bid.
I’ve been at the old machines again. Here’s my latest. I was trying some new techniques. I constructed this as a “quilt as you go” and then went back and “Thread painted” the details on the women with my long arm machine. Lots of thread! It’s around 90″ x 100″. What do you think?
in the company of dogs – where I couldn’t be happier! Davis, his little sister Georgia, and Good Time Charlie.
Just finished this GARDEN OF EDEN quilt! I quilted most in a Jungle leaf motif, which I love juxtaposed on the geometrics, and then, as you might be able to see, I stuffed the snake a bit to give it a 3D effect. It’s so wonderful on a bed. Love it. On to the next quilting adventure!
Just finished quilting and binding this Queen sized beauty. It’s a pattern by Carol Thelan on YouTube. What I love is that it appears to be curved but that’s just an optical illusion. All the pieces are straight. Fun?
A sweet admirer sent a bundle of his floral fabrics to me. I guess things will be coming up daisies in my quilting studio very soon.
Me and that Schneider woman. What a delight she is. Had a great time together at the 92nd ST Y.
Wm Rue, a wonderful designer, sent me some of his fabrics and this is what I’ve made of them (with a few additions from my stash). I love it. And it’s great on a bed.
I was watching MSNBC when the news came in from Israel that a 4 year old, who’d been assumed taken hostage, was actually dead and dismembered. The reporter, Nicolle Wallace, said, “I would not be able to die fast enough if that were to happen to my child.” My heart just broke. What is wrong with people is wrong with people.
What begins with flowers is bound to end with candy. So goes Halloween!
I’ve been at it again. Here’s my latest improvised piece. I do these using a technique called QUILT AS YOU GO. It’s very freeing and a little scary but I love how they come out.
That singular voice, JUDY COLLINS, thrilled us last night performing the songs from her album WILDFLOWERS. I cried through most of the evening. What a joyful bin of memories. Here she was, backstage, with the marvelous Bonnie Bedelia.
As promised, here is the information about the silent auction for this quilt. https://cbo.io/i/index.php?id=1753986
Happy anniversary to a Broadway miracle.
Charlie is enjoying the last of Daylight Savings Time. He actually thinks clocks are all a bit foolish.
Lovers of Coney Island will recognize the face of TILLY, the mascot of fabled STEEPLECHASE/THE PAVILION OF FUN. This 85 lb solid cement visage was ripped from the building and left smashed in the sand by none other than Donald Trump and his brother after Daddy Trump bought the property. Photos of the smashed pieces ran in the local papers. Someone gathered them up and restored it leaving the scars as evidence of the evil act. I have it at the moment but will eventually donate it to a Coney Island or Brooklyn Museum. Right now it gives me great joy to see this symbol of my childhood safe and sound.
The gang turned out to celebrate the life and gifts of Sheldon Harnick yesterday. BRUCE GLIKAS captured this moment of the finale as we sang L’CHAIM (TO LIFE).
