Got sent this on the weekend, really is a sad state of affairs that we are getting ‘Congratulated’ for completing our tests. By the way this is certainly not a pop at Vada as they are fantastic with their testing process and no nonsense with the ‘in’ and ‘out’ of competition rules. What is the annoyance is that we participate in a violent sport and cheating bastards should by cut out of it for good. I can’t believe we are at a stage for being ‘congratulated’! It should go without saying… And Yes, I know what I sign up for. I love boxing. Boxing is a science, an art, poetic, ‘Beautiful Brutality’ to quote Adam Smith… but in a nutshell we punch each other in the head. We want to inflict pain and damage to our opponents to win. No matter how much respect is there, that’s the top and bottom of it. Black and white. I say this in all interviews I do when asked about ‘Drugs in sport’ and I always say the same thing… If someone is caught in sport such as track and field or swimming… then those who come second best to the ‘cheat’ may loose out on a medal, potential sponsors and other opportunities… It could go even further and impact mental health which obviously is a fight in itself… BUT In boxing, you can cause physical trauma to your opponent. You can cause life changing injuries. You could kill a man in the ring. There and then on the spot. And if that’s done by a drugs cheat, someone who’s not played but the rules to get an advantage over their man, well surely that’s manslaughter? The worst thing is they walk about in this sport and with a smile… I guess whether it’s a pound note, dollar, peso or yen… Professional sport is Money, and cash is king so it will always go on…😞 Boxing … crazy sport

Last Halloween I was preparing to fight Lopez so wasn’t in the mind to get involved with Halloween but I did tell my girls that if I wasn’t getting ready for a fight next Halloween, then I would dress up🤦🏻♂️. Well there memory is no where near as terrible as mine, and they let me know about it! Probably since April…😂 So because they absolutely love ‘Nightmare before Christmas’, I took on the role as ‘Oogie Boogie’ 🪱…. Can’t complain as it kept me warm and a decent disguise… That was until I took off the mask and heard “Bloody hell Josh, you’re scary enough mate, you don’t need an outfit…”😳 Cheers pal 👍 #halloween #oogieboogie #nightmarebeforechristmas

5 Years ago ‘Fighting for a City’ @ffacdoc premiered at the Leeds Town Hall.
