It was a huge honour to welcome His Majesty The King to @lampallib today to meet with faith leaders from across the UK as part of #InterFaithWeek.
These are challenging times for faith communities in the UK, particularly with the devastating war in the Middle East. The King’s visit was a wonderful encouragement to remain united in partnership and friendship – as many people of faith are doing across the country.
Jesus calls us to be peacemakers, and that is especially important right now. I hope this visit by the King inspires @thechurchofengland to continue in our calling to love our neighbours and help bring communities together.

The devastating loss of civilian life and humanitarian suffering in Gaza cannot be morally justified.
The call for a ceasefire is a moral cry – for humanity to find another way to achieve justice, security and peace for Israelis and Palestinians.
In solidarity with persecuted Christians around the world, please join me in prayer today. As we look forward to the joyful hope of Advent, we pray in anticipation for freedom of religion, peace, and justice for all. #RedWednesday
Today’s decision on the Rwanda policy leaves desperate people fleeing conflict and persecution in limbo. I hope the Government will reflect and reconsider its approach.
Let’s put aside the politics of division and work together to build an asylum system based on fairness, compassion and the God-given dignity of every human being.
Good to meet with @rescueorg President @dmiliband today at Lambeth Palace. We had a productive discussion about the need for global cooperation in the face of enormous challenges of conflict, disaster, displacement, malnutrition and climate change. I pray for humanitarian workers in their vital work around the world.
This morning, we had the honour of planting a new flowering cherry tree in Lambeth Palace Garden to celebrate 50 years of its opening to the @nationalgardenscheme. 🌸
We are so grateful to receive this gift. This tree will grow and bloom for years to come, supporting the garden’s wildlife and bringing joy to generations of visitors.
By providing public access to over 3,500 private gardens, the scheme raises money for nursing and health charities. Learn more at the link in bio.

The call for a ceasefire is a moral cry – from people of many faiths and none.
Our common humanity must find another way to achieve justice, security and peace for all Israelis and Palestinians – now and in the future.
It was an honour to welcome Her Majesty Margareta of Romania, His Royal Highness Prince Radu, His Eminence Archbishop Josif, Metropolitan of Western Europe, and Her Excellency Laura Popescu, Romanian Ambassador to the UK, today to Lambeth Palace.
I pray for Romania and for the continued growth and influence of the Romanian Church and I give thanks for the opportunity to strengthen our relationship.
It was good to visit @stmellitus on Monday as part of their end of term celebration, and to encourage students and staff that they are never without hope. I pray that God will guide them through their continued studies, and that when times are tough, they will be able to lean on God and each other.

I am glad to have written the foreword to Theos’ latest report: Love, Grief and Hope: Emotional responses to death and dying in the UK.
Everyone has to face the deaths of people they love, and the profound grief which can follow. When my mother died earlier this year, I found myself surprised by the complex feelings that arose, despite the fact that her death was not unexpected.
I firmly believe that the Church – with its centuries of experience in walking with people at the end of their lives and caring for those who mourn – can help us navigate these complex feelings towards death, and the varied levels of preparedness that we can see across society, even in a landscape of increasing religious disaffiliation.

We are so grateful to @justinwelby, the Archbishop of Canterbury and Patron of Sanctuary, for his support of our newest project with @theportersgate, Sanctuary Songs.
He shares: “The songs invite us all to connect with God and each other, in and through our mental health journeys. To sing about all experiences in the life of faith and to hold onto God’s presence at all times and in all circumstances. I highly recommend Sanctuary Songs for communities of faith across the UK and further afield.”
Sanctuary Songs is an album inspired by the faith and experiences of people living with mental health challenges. It covers a range of themes such as suffering, companionship, identity, and healing, with artists representing many faith and racial backgrounds. Our hope is that these songs will inspire us to bring our whole selves when we worship together.
