Everyone has a role to play in tackling the most complex environmental challenges facing our world.
At a reception hosted by @commonwealth_sec and the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance, The King has spent time with global and Commonwealth indigenous leaders to hear about the use of traditional knowledge, alongside scientific knowledge, to address the climate and nature crises.
During the event, the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance and @commonwealth_sec launched The Wildlife Resilient Landscape Network, which will bring together indigenous and scientific knowledge to explore how more resilient landscapes can be created in wildfire-prone areas of the world.
His Majesty also joined a discussion on the particular risks that climate change poses to women and girls around the globe.

Ahead of #COP28 later this week, The King has hosted global business leaders and investors at Buckingham Palace.
Earlier in the day, the Global Investment Summit at Hampton Court highlighted the UK’s growth in sectors such as digital technology, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and green industries.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award has been thriving across Asia, empowering young people to become truly #WorldReady!
Last week, The Duke, Patron of the International Award, was in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, and Indonesia to celebrate their fantastic achievements and raise awareness about the value of non-formal education and learning. HRH participated in various activities alongside participants and dedicated volunteers, showcasing the invaluable impact the Award has on young people and their communities all over the world.
“Global warming, climate change, the devastating loss of biodiversity are the greatest threats that humanity has ever faced and one largely of our own creation.”
When he was Prince of Wales, The King made many speeches raising awareness of environmental problems from plastic pollution to global warming and ecological collapse, highlighting the importance of traditional knowledge and indigenous insight, and popularising concepts like the circular economy and natural capital.
🎥 Created by @retv_smi, watch extracts of His Majesty’s former speeches being read by actors and environmentalists.
