Questlove Instagram – Welp: first ten years of my life my dad taught me the business by putting me to work at age 5.

Next in my teens in addition to becoming his bandleader I decided to start my own group and see how far the dream could take me.

In my 20s all those gigs the Roots did prepped me for stage 3 which became the “see who else out there I vibe w” stage of the D’angelo’s/Commons/Erykahs//Dillas/black lily jam sessions slash soulquarians stuff

Which then coming into my 4th decade entering the late night world w @jimmyfallon in which I’m now discovering how to put ALL the knowledge I gained up until that point to great use….

Which now in my “won…too…3ee….fo….FIF!” stage of life we are here to announce a major move w NorthRoadEnt (Peter Chernin & David Nevins)——& see how the dream evolves as storytellers—-here is to the f🥂ture!!!!

(from @variety ) The Roots founders Questlove and Black Thought‘s have sold a significant stake in their production company Two One Five Entertainment to Peter Chernin’s content studio The North Road Company.

Under the pact, North Road will finance future film, TV and other creative projects from Two One Five, which previously produced the Oscar-winning documentary “Summer of Soul,” “The League” and “Descendent.” The partnership will also see North Road helping Two One Five expand its scripted slate after years of mainly focusing on unscripted content.
