I don’t talk much about giving up the booze because it’s such a personal thing and not right for everyone because we all drink to excess for such bespoke reasons. Also I don’t feel comfortable encouraging people to do anything they haven’t arrived at themselves (except making soup and chia pudding!) but after 1000 days I know for sure it has been the right thing for me so I’m putting this here for anyone who’s thinking that maybe drinking isn’t fun anymore. I love love love being able to drive everywhere, leave places whenever I like and especially ESPECIALLY going to bed knowing I’ve been the most authentic version of myself AND waking up excited about another brilliant day. Can’t do that with a hangover! No Sir! I didn’t have a long standing problem with the grog but I did give it a fair nudge over the pandemic (which was a few years actually) and I just knew it had to go. I coped in the times of temptation by forcing myself every minute to focus on all the things I was gaining, and nothing that I was ‘losing’ – this helped immensely to reframe the mentality that I was ‘giving up’ alcohol – because I wasn’t ‘giving up’ anything – I was actually taking my power back, and the positives started within the first week. Mainly – relief.
And the clarity I needed to return to my original self and get to work on ‘building a life I didn’t want to escape from’.
I don’t miss drinking one bit and now I never even think about it.
I am proud of myself as well – which is a sparkling and meaningful thing.
In truth – every aspect of my life, energy, positivity and relationships has become so much better in every way since that day.
If you can’t stand the hangovers anymore (that was the clincher for me – the sickening down time!) or are doing stuff that makes you cringe afterwards, all I can say is you won’t miss those things one bit!
And feeling everything that life throws at you is nothing to be afraid of – that is giving me a much bigger rush every day now than getting blackout drunk ever did.
Enjoy my slide show incl my all time fave mocktail. And the book that everyone asks me about – Quit Like A Woman by @holly Whitaker – it just made so much sense to me!

Today is my FIFTIETH BIRTHDAY CAN YOU BELIEVE!?!? Spending it with my @novaentaus family that I’ve been adopted by and my actual family that I grew myself. Couldn’t be happier on any possible level. Thankyou for all the love and beautiful messages – I feel very beloved and seen by all of you.
Also – Nova got me the world’s most perfect cake… A POTATO CAKE/SCALLOP CAKE! Nothing better! ❤️
See you on @thechrissieswanshow on Nova from 2-4 for a birthday extravaganza 🎉
Happy 50th birthday to my partner in crime for over 40 years. May we climb the stairs alongside each other forever and ever, until we both need one of those nifty stair-chair thingies.
Love you so much. ❤️

Just putting this here because I’m certain it’ll brighten your Tuesday just like seeing this Queen in the flesh did mine ❤️

Many of my DMs ask ‘what’s in your backpack, Chrissie?’ and obviously it changes all the time, that’s why I call it ‘The Backpack Of Possibility’ ™️
Today’s backpack involved stocking up my personal SnackBox ™️ … do you have one of these? Highly recommend. Probably don’t recommend lugging 9 kgs of Party Mix about 5kms though… still… worth it. 🥰
Vlog era continues bebes!
Chicken soup! Super quick version. Still delicious – most of the time I do the whole chicken carcass thing but sometimes you need an express soup xx
I hope you don’t need it soon @joelcreasey but it’s ready when you need it my love.
The real hero here is Lee Kum Kee Chicken Boullion Powder. KAPOW! 💥
(Anyone sick of my vlog era yet? 😂)
I’m still working out the best/easiest way to poach an egg but you all have eagle ears and I briefly mentioned Chia Pudding in my supermarket-hack video and you wanted my recipe for it as if it were a vault track from Taylor’s version of 1989… It’s so easy and SO DELICIOUS. You will just LOVE. I usually make it on a Sunday and eat it over the week. Let me know how you go! (Recipe at end to screen shot but I’ll also pop it here👇🏼)
Also yes, my vlog era has well & truly arrived 😂
Chia Pudding
One cup white chia
600mls coconut milk
500mls almond or oat milk
4 tablespoons coconut sugar or brown sugar.
Whisk dry chia and sugar together.
Mix in liquids with a spatula.
Leave in the fridge til pudding-like (maybe 2 hours?)
This is about 6 serves depending on how much you like to eat!
You know when you finally catch up with your friends and you swap info about fave streaming shows and recipes and things you’re loving? This is one of those from me to you. Everyone always asks me how I look so tanned – and we all know SPF50 every day is a must – so the secret is this Salon Quality Face Tanning Serum by @letan_au – Just a few drops in your nightly moisturiser and you wake up to the most subtle glowy tan. Miraculous. No money has been exchanged for this post – I just wanted you to know – but obviously you can get these drops from @pricelineau – I just checked and they’re like $11 at the moment … And also check out Last Stop Larrimah on @netflixanz and I’ve been making popcorn at home from the cheap-as-chips kernals and I’ll never buy pre-popped again. 🍿 ☀️ 📺
(Gotta say it – vlog era shows no signs of slowing down 😂)
This man is pure joy and, incidentally, also one of the finest and sharpest standup comedians I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing live. His comedy special is available today on YouTube. Hop to it! And listen to @thechrissieswanshow today from 2pm to see what we get up to!
@dave_thorno
This is 50! 10/10 can recommend. It is a privilege to be here.
Some aren’t so lucky 🍀 ❤️
(Festival of 50 is officially over… the festival of ME (and YOU!) continues…)
PS: This reel took me about an hour to make but features all the good stuff: cats, concerts, corgis, cooking, coffee, cakes, can openers, clotheslines, cheese, coke and car sunlight whisker removal 😂
(Sound on 🔊 for the most glorious of songs)
Sale Lippies – 50% off at the moment – I always always always have a lippie in my bumbag – though the last one works so well I never need a top up – literally stays on until the next day and I have to forcibly remove it from my face. Happy shopping! (Big Deal in Makeup Sale @pricelineau Ends Monday)
Have you had enough of my vlog era yet!? 😂 and yes I realise I started with top 5 then realised I had 2 of the same which took it down to 4 then I realised one of them is discontinued (boooo!) so it’s my top 3 🤗
Oh. And sparkly jumper is @rebecca_thompson_fashion ❤️
Poached egg tutorial on its way but in the meantime – who wants/needs a homemade from scratch felafel tutorial? You’ll never make that stuff from the box ever again! Promise!
What is happening to me? 😂
(vlog era continues…)

So. @oprah says we should ditch the CHEESE for taking photos and replace it with YEAH. As usual, I think she’s right. Having said that I also think HEY might be EVEN BETTER! Did you know I have a show on nova from 2-4 every day? There you go, now you do! @thechrissieswanshow back tomorrow 🤗
I live for a very loud and very word perfect singalong in the car when I’m listening to Nova while driving into work… also funnily enough at Nova 🤗It’s basically self-care for me (but probably not for the drivers around me 🤗) Some songs, though, just don’t cut the mustard to sing along to… 👻 🦉
