Today, Fred Hampton should be celebrating his 75th birthday.
Instead, he was assassinated by the federal government.
He should still be here, leading the movement for Black liberation.

@BarbaraLeeForCA is exceptionally qualified & prepared to be the next Senator from the state of California.
@GavinNewsom should appoint her, without conditions, to fill the newly vacant seat.
Governor Gavin Newsom did the right thing when he promised to appoint a Black woman to the U.S. Senate.
If he intends to keep his promise and appoint a Black woman to the Senate, there shouldn’t be any strings attached.
In 2021 when @GavinNewsom appointed Sen. Padilla, he didn’t appoint a “caretaker.”
Black women are more than caretakers and it’s offensive that a Black woman would have to be subject to such constraints.
There are currently ZERO Black women in the U.S. Senate, and Barbara Lee & other candidates nationwide are working to change that.
@GavinNewsom should appoint @BarbaraLeeForCA to the U.S. Senate without delay.
