Emilia Fox Instagram – Walking into The Marianne North Gallery @kewgardens is always a breathtaking experience. I recently had the extra special treat of being invited for afternoon tea there to celebrate Marianne’s life, work and what would have been her 193rd birthday.
Being surrounded by Marianne’s beautiful, plentiful and fascinating botanical pictures is a wondrous and life affirming experience and it makes me think of my favourite quote of hers:
“Begin now by observing as much as you can of what nature teaches and you will find a new happiness in life.”
The Marianne North Gallery is such a special place. I highly recommend taking a peek in if you’re visiting Kew.
I also think Marianne might have approved of our celebratory afternoon tea in there because in her original plans for the gallery she proposed that tea and coffee should be served on arrival to the visitors of the gallery.
