getting engaged while submerged within a cenote, surrounded by ancient water and stalagmites is emblematic of our love and everything it took to get to this moment. you are by far my greatest teacher and friend. thank you for choosing me and saying yes. 💍

here’s my body a few days before my surgery, and here’s my body two weeks after all 23 fibroids were removed. i still can’t believe i lived like that for over two years, carrying around the weight of a six-month pregnancy. what i’ve never shared is how rigoiously i prepared for this surgery. from advocating for the right post-surgery pain control, to the foods i ate for healing, to all the bio-hacking and the extreme rest i forced myself into. recovering from my myomectomy was one of the hardest things i’ve ever done, but it was absolutely worth it. to listen to my whole story, download @learnwithloom today–it’s free. 🎧🌸

as a black, jewish person who believes deeply in reproductive justice and access—the right to have or not have a child safely, and that women/people everywhere need access to safe, gynecological care—i cannot ignore that 37,000 pregnant women in gaza are unable to access essential healthcare, while others struggle to find basic menstrual hygiene products and are being forced to find unsafe ways to suppress menstruation. regardless of your politic, religion or race—donate to and engage with @ippf_global the international planned parenthood federation, a global non-governmental organization focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights. they operate in over 150 countries, and work with with local members to address pressing needs on the ground. please don’t look away. wholeness and safety is a universal right. from palestine to israel and beyond. life must be preserved. families must be reunited. free yourself from the violence ideological binaries perpetuate, especially if you have the privilege to not be in geographical epicenter of it. embrace action—wherever you can. #ceasefireNOW 🤎

96 days—yep, that’s how long it took for my period to show up. my longest cycle ever. so long, in fact, i joined the amenorrhea club—aka no period for three months or more. it vanished despite my routine: weekly acupuncture, regular exercise, decent sleep hygiene, and continued ghosting even after folding in chinese herbs, vitex, abdominal massage, lymphatic stimulation, and aromatherapy. i even did a full work-up to rule out pcos. but when i started bleeding last week, one thing became glaringly obvious: stress. stress can literally halt your period. and this year’s been a stress bucket—running a startup, family of origin struggles i’m only a year out from my myomectomy. so, i guess it’s not surprising my period took a hiatus. but now she’s back—and i’m finally softening. 🩸🧎🏾♀️
