Kalki Koechlin Instagram – We live in a peaceful place Sometimes we meet a tortoise or a kingfisher on the garden path Or watch in awe as our cat paws lazily at a baby crate There’s nothing to report No reason to complain Everything is quiet and still It’s just that- It’s just that my dreams have had a different quality lately They stay, like imprints in the grass where I laid, Long after I’ve gotten up and done the things I must do in the day It’s just that sometimes I can’t move my arms or legs and sit there terrified for a few moments Before getting up and hugging my beautiful child And telling her I love her so often that she shouts ‘I know, mama, I know, you don’t need to keep telling me’ So I quieten I try to be still And we look out at this peaceful place While our hearts beat like the wings of a humming bird.
