I met with my Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, in Amman. We focused on the declining humanitarian situation facing Palestinian civilians in Gaza as well as the impact of Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel and on regional peace and security.

I was in Israel to discuss the impacts of Hamas’ terrorist attack, one of the most deadly the country has ever seen. I reiterated our support for Israel’s right to self-defence while ensuring Palestinian civilians are protected with access to humanitarian aid in Gaza.
