#WorldMentalHealthDay was a few days ago, and while I’m a little late, I wanted to share with you something I wrote. Mental illness is something that I have battled with my whole life, and for many years I let it define me and my self worth. I was inspired by Epiphyllum Oxypetalum, better known as The Queen of The Night or Tan Hua. This poem is a love letter to anyone who struggles with their mental health. A reminder that you are beautiful, that you are not a burden, and it is a privilege to love and be loved by you. Self love and healing is a journey and is rarely linear, there is no timeline, no one way it should look, no such thing as failure.
I want to say thank you to the brilliant @rupikaur_ for inspiring me and helping me to share this with you all, and my dearest friends @sean.kauf and @isabelrmachado for giving me the courage and support to do so
