hi hi! Here’s your weekly #wednesdayworkout (or #workoutwednesday) that can be done without any equipment at all, perfect if you’re traveling or on the go and can find 15 minutes to get a quick sweat sesh in! I do recommend using a mat and/or weight though if you got them! Repeat this full body circuit 3x: 1) quadruped opposite arm, opposite leg raise and crunch— you can hold a weight in your moving hand if you’re looking for a bit of a challenge. In a table top position on all fours, with your back parallel to the ground (no arch in your back) raise your opposite leg and opposite arm out away from you, squeezing your booty at the top. Then bring that elbow and knee to meet each other in the center of your body. Repeat 8-12 times on one side, then do the same amount of reps on the other side. 2) up-up, down-down plank— if you can do a plank, you will be moving back and forth between a forearm plank to an extended-arm plank with your palms on the floor without stopping for as long as you can until you are close to failure. Time yourself and try to match that time each round. If you can’t do a plank yet, bring your knees down to your mat and just focus on the same upper body movement just like in the video, keeping your core tight. Time yourself and try to match that time each round. 3) mountain climbers— yes, these are intense and some might say, they suck. But cardio is superrrrr important 😉 gotta keep that heart healthy! So. Run those knees back and forth up to your chest for 15, 30 or 60 seconds depending on how much cardiovascular fitness you already have🫀. Try to match or beat your time each round! Today we’re targeting the core of our bodies— our abs😋 you can use a light dumbbell like I am using here or you can do all these exercises weight-free if the added weight is too challenging. Hit this circuit 3x to get that tummy nice and tight: 1) weighted clamshells— put the light dumbbell in between the soles of your feet, letting your knees open wide to the sides. Place your hands behind your head and lift from your chest (not your neck!) as you bring your legs up so your knees meet your elbows. Then return back to starting position to finish one rep. Do 8-12 reps, more if you can! 2) 1/2 jackknife crunches— extend one leg out in front of you and extend the opposite arm over head holding the light dumbbell in that hand as your other leg/arm relax on the ground. Lift your torso and the extended leg up off the ground, reaching the dumbbell past your knee. Return to starting position and repeat 8-12 times (or more until you feel the burn) on each side. 3) weighted knee-ins— you can do these supported with your hands on the ground beside your hips or with your hands off the ground, if you’re an advanced exerciser. Grip the light dumbbell between your feet as you lower your legs and torso away from each other and towards the floor and then back up towards each other for the crunch. happy #workoutwednesday ! Today’s #circuit is a full body #workout that will definitely leave you burning by the end. Repeat this mashup 3x: 1) squat and overhead press— your stance should be wider than hip-width, toes facing forward or slightly turned out. Keep your shoulder blades back, then slowly press your weights overhead as you stand up from you squat. Make sure your pelvis is tucked forward to minimize your lower back arch. Do 8-12 reps. 2) lunge and bicep curl— start with your feet hip width apart, hands down by your side with slightly heavy weights (the bicep curls should feel challenging by rep 8 or 10). Step back into a lunge with one leg as you curl the weights up to your chest. Return to starting position. Do 8-12 reps, all on one leg. Then switch to the other leg and do the same amount of reps there. 3) lateral lunge and frontal raise— as one of your legs steps to the side for the lateral lunge, make sure you try to keep your body weight back in that heel and booty. If you put all your weight into your toes, your balance will be challenged and can lead to injury! Once you’re stable in your side lunge, raise your weights up to eye level. Return the weights back down and step back to the starting position. Do 8-12 reps on one leg, then match those reps on your other leg.
