Alert ‼️ News on Goa: Last Friday scientists declared that Goa’s beach waters are infested with disease-causing pathogens.
Water samples have indicated high concentrations of:
Faecal matter 💩
Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD)
These indicate the presence of pathogens and bacteria in the water.
This makes it unfit for swimming, especially if you have open cuts, can be dangerous.
Some of the most polluted beaches in Goa include:
Morjim, Miramar, Calangute, Tiracol, Vagator, Mobor, Baina, Velsao, Galjibag. Goa, India

I’m feeling Nostalgic about a Goa from the 90s with its bohemian spirit, a place where a few of us felt we had found the best kept secret, chilling on the white sand beaches of Candolim ( yup Candolim) and Baga was where we went to eat chocolate brownies from Tito’s and Seafood platter at Brittos. At night we would get dressed in our hippy dippy attire and ride deep into the jungles to find the secret rave parties. Was a thrill to just find them. And then I would lay on the bedsheets outside and eat andapao under a sky full of stars while my friends danced the night away.
But now, Goa has donned a new attire. The beachside huts have given way to boutique resorts, the beaches are no longer the best-kept secret, and the once-quiet streets where you would just see Goans with their rum bottles and siesta signs now hum with a different kind of energy.
An energy of construction and building.
An energy of investors all looking to make money off Goa’s land. The pandemic changed Goa. Builders building villas that cost 10Cr to 25Cr.
Land prices shooting up.
Shacks with fish curry rice are a rare find replaced by fancy restaurants and speak easy bars. The Goans Rum 🍹 is replaced by fancy Gin Bars( I don’t mind the fancy bars and restaurants, but it’s different)
It’s a new Goa.
Goa has reinvented itself, with a fusion of old-world charm and contemporary delights but I do hope the old world charm remains and the heritage homes and trees 🌳 stay because I would hate to see what’s happened to Bandra happen in Goa.

I decided to be fancy and take my family to try the very hip and stylish W Goa this time.
Here’s my review and why I feel it’s unique-
1. Location: It’s on top of a hill overlooking the sea in Vagator.
2. Design: Bold colours, lots of modern art.
3. Rooms: Very unusual rooms with chandeliers and bright colours, bathtubs with TVs -reel coming soon
4. Service: Staff is very friendly and they are pretty quick.
5. Atmosphere: Young, modern, cool.
6. Reception area is called The Living Room and is very lively with music and parties and a bar. ( that’s the W brand, their receptions are all like nightclubs and they were especially famous in the early 2000s)
7. Food: Delicious especially the Asian Restaurant -Spice Traders and I loved the Goan Thaali in their coffee shop. ( pls note the thaali is HUGE, 4 people can eat from it 🙂
8. Their “Rock Pool” is one of the most famous pools in Goa.
Unfortunately the Rock Pool isn’t working right now, it will be ready for the season.
9. They have an indoor adults only pool in their spa which is dimly lit with candles all around it. Their spa has a lot of interesting options. I haven’t tried it yet, will do later today.

Goan Government pleaseeee do something!!!!!! Lovers of Goa and the oceans let’s do something- we can’t just accept this.
The Goan oceans and rivers have been declared unfit for swimming and fishing because of high levels of bacteria from untreated sewage in it. Human 💩 in the waters . Shacks and hotels just put pipes out w the sewage straight into the rivers and ocean.
Will we protest? Will we do something? Or as per our high level of tolerance as Indians will we just say chalta hain and ignore it and continue to swim in it without a blink of an eyelid?
Come on man- let’s do something???? These are our oceans and rivers? Do we not have the right to clean waters???
I have an open cut and I’ve been swimming it it and will probably go in to surf now but I feel so upset and grossed out – ( not enough to stop swimming I guess 😞)
I’ve seen shacks in Arambol just letting their pipes out into the ocean. Can’t the Goan Government stop this???? I know it’s close to Season but seriously is this what we have to live with ?? Why do we accept this? Goa, India
How to meet people on your next solo trip-
1. On a train 😉
2. Hostels – best place!
3. Cafés ☕️ just start talking about the coffee
4.Bars – smile 😊 and if you get a smile back, strike a conversation
5. Take a day tour ( to meet travelers like yourself )
7. Learn something new ( a perfume making class in Paris is where I met this girl who showed me all of Paris)
8. Volunteer – I met one of my editors when he was volunteering at a surf school as a videographer.
10. Just be open and strike up and conversation; don’t take it personally if the other person isn’t friendly back.
Some of my most memorable times on trips have been times like this when I discovered an unknown place with an unknown person! ❤️🍹#vienna #viennastravel #viennastory
Send this to your friends and see what they pick- 10 Cr or Love of your life? Which one would you pick if I met you on the beach in Goa and asked you :))
Be honest come on. Ask your crush, friends, girlfriend / boyfriend now 😉

This cafe is famous for being the most beautiful cafe ☕️ in the world – Gold plated interiors + Gold Plated Coffee. I realised Gold is good to look at but not good to drink. My stomach was not happy after the coffee ☕️ moral: Gold is to be worn; not to be swallowed.

In the bittersweet dance of time, Goa has witnessed a transformation after the pandemic. City dwellers swapped their chaotic city routines for the tranquility of Goa. But with that Goa tranquility itself changed and Goa became something new.
Goa, once a haven of tranquility, now witnesses a relentless wave of development, raising rents, construction.
But here’s something I’m not so sad about – Goa has emerged as the Food Capital of India! It’s a paradise for restaurateurs with affordable costs and fantastic seafood.
From top-notch Mumbai sushi to Delhi and Bengaluru’s most famous names all moving here, Goa’s food scene is hotter than ever. It’s a mix of bittersweet, just like life itself.
Save and share this video for your next trip ❤️ 🍷
They even Recycle Their Buildings!
The construction industry accounts for 40 percent of global CO2 emissions and 30 percent of landfill waste, making it one of the world’s biggest polluters.
In Copenhagen, there are innovative building and architecture initiatives that aim to address the construction industry’s environmental impact. One project involves creating a residential area using materials from abandoned homes, resulting in a 29% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional building methods.
Another initiative focuses on circular interiors, utilizing technology to minimize waste and lower costs.
Additionally, repurposed shipping containers are being used for student housing, highlighting the importance of considering the entire life cycle of housing.
These efforts strive to make the construction industry a part of the solution to global pollution.
They have a safe and scenic biking infrastructure where bike lanes are as big as car lanes. They even have lanes for bikers on the highways and most people look down at those who drive a car instead of biking.
Could we try this in India???

We have streets like this in india where bikes and goats and humans all pass- without traffic lights 🚦 Anyway, this is the narrowest street in Prague. It is only 70 centimeters wide at its narrowest point.
Features
The street has two traffic lights at either end to indicate when it’s occupied.
The street is actually a fire escape.
You can press a button on either end to signal a “walk/don’t walk” traffic light.
Location
The street is located in the Mala Strana area.
It’s sandwiched between two buildings on U Luzickeho Seminare Street.
At the other end of the street is a Čertovka restaurant.
