// After An Incredible Opening Night of @brucehsussman & @barrymanilowofficial βHarmonyβ on Broadway at the Barrymore Theatre. After the curtain call. After all the patrons had left the theatre. I found myself in the theatre alone. Only with a handle of industry people left, and one friend who kindly captured this private moment – of my wife & I kissing for the first time after seeing her Opening night show. Squigs Salutes: Harmony
The story of the early 20th Century star vocal group The Comedian Harmonists needs to be told, and after many years, Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussmanβs telling has arrived on Broadway. The stunning production helmed by Warren Carlyle (with music direction by John OβNeill) stars amazing Chip Zien, Sierra Boggess, Julie Benko, Sean Bell, Danny Kornfeld, Zal Owen, Eric Peters, Blake Roman, and Steven Telsey.
I think itβs entirely possible this story is particularly meant to be told right now as anti-Semitism is once again at such an infuriatingly tragic level.
Harmony truly sings. It will hit you in the funny bone AND the heart. Go! Barrymore Theatre
