Families are mourning not just their own losses, but what feels like the loss of an entire generation. Children have accounted for 2 out of every 5 civilian deaths in Gaza, according to Jason Lee, Save the Children’s director for the Palestinian territories. That does not include some 1,000 children the group estimates are still trapped under the rubble. “We are now in a situation where one child is killed every 10 minutes,” he said. I promise I’ll post all updates in the stories, and I’m answering most frequently asked questions below: How to help? Gaza is completely closed off, even before the war it was almost impossible to send goods. If you want to help us you can: 1. donate (PayPal and Animals Australia appeal link in bio - 100% of donations will go to us) 2. Tell other people about us How will donations work if nothing is coming in or out? At this moment, there is still dog and cat food in Gaza. The estimated stock at the beginning of the war was about a month, so they haven’t run out yet. Of course we will keep posting updates. ATMs are also still working. Ia there still water? Yes, but no fuel to operate the motors to pump it. So people are filling their bottles of water from people who go around with water in barrels selling it. We are still buying water for the animals. Are the animals safe? Nowhere in Gaza is safe. This has never been more true than now. The bombing has never been this bad before. But Sulala is doing everything to keep them safe, and are even moving them around from place to place to keep them safer. Can we get animals out of Gaza? They would have to go to Egypt and that is not an option now. The Egyptian border isn’t open for humans, how would animals go out. Even before the war, when people crossed into Egypt, they weren’t allowed to bring their pets. So we get this question a lot but the idea is really not on the table at this moment. Will Saeed go the Egypt when the border opens? He will be the last person to go. His place is in Gaza and his animals are in Gaza, and everything he has in here. We sent the ambulance and got her picked from there. In the evening we got her vet visit done and got her operated too. She had her surgery twice and now she is in a medical boarding home for time being. She is up for adoption in Delhi-NCR.
