Tisca Chopra Instagram – This is ‘Kumar’ .. when I asked for his real name, he declined, ‘naam jaan ke kya karengi?’ Kumar cheated on his wife/girlfriend, Gayatri, decades ago. Since then he believes his life has been a curse. He wasn’t able to stay employed and his foot got infected with disease.. I wasn’t clear if he was drinking or was on another substance, but the pain was visible despite his sharp tongue and acid remarks .. I wonder, as we go about our day, will we do things we will regret so deeply that the course of our lives will become permanently altered? Or do we have it in us to find redemption, to find a way to forgive ourselves for our mistakes .. I think about Kumar and his life and see in it a lesson for me .. we are human and will make mistakes, we can repent and be better versions of ourselves. One need not carry the weight of a mistake, no matter how big, to the end .. apologise to the one you have hurt and then forgive oneself too.
