Baloji Tshiani Instagram - BALOJI EST TSHALA / Dans le titre « Matrone » Baloji interprète la chanson du point de vue de Tshala, l’un des 4 personnages principaux de son premier long métrage AUGURE. Au côté de la légendaire Mayra Andrade, l’artiste embrasse les codes couleurs, vestimentaires autant que la psychologie de son personnage. La bande originale du film AUGURE est faite en 4 volets musicaux (EP) écrits et composés du point de vue des 4 personnages principaux du film. C'est un complément, une backstory des personnages et une œuvre musicale à part entière. 👗Les propos homophobes qui circulent autour de ma tenue me rendent encore plus fier de ce geste. Le hasard fait que l’on sort ce titre à la veille de la Journée Internationale contre les Violences faites aux Femmes (ONU). Les nombreux rapports édifiants sur les hausses de violences, rapports d’emprise, viols ou micro-agressions sexistes (même si elles ne sont en réalité qu’un quart à se signaler) nous invitent, nous les hommes à tous porter la robe et penser du point du vue de l’autre. 🇬🇧 BALOJI IS TSHALA / In "Matrone", Baloji interprets the song from the point of view of Tshala, one of the 4 main characters in his first feature film AUGURE. Alongside the legendary Mayra Andrade, the artist embraces the color and dress codes as much as the psychology of her character. The AUGURE film soundtrack is a 4-part EP written and composed from the point of view of the film's 4 main characters. It's a complement, a backstory to the characters and a musical work in its own right. 👗The homophobic comments circulating around my dress make me even prouder of this move. By coincidence, we're releasing this track on the eve of the UN International Day Against Violence Against Women. The many edifying reports on the increase in violence, power abuse, rape and sexist micro-aggressions (even if in reality only a quarter of victims report to the police) invite us men to wear the dress and consider things from the other's point of view.

Baloji’s outfit in the show also references and embodies Tshala one of the female characters. “AUGURE/OMEN’ explores the weight of beliefs on one’s destiny through four characters accused of sorcery. Premiered at Cannes earlier this year, where it won the New Voice Prize, it is representing Belgium at the Oscars in 2024.
