I am very saddened today to learn of a friend’s passing. Mark Margolis was a really good actor and a lovely human being. Fun and engaging off the set, and (in the case of Breaking Bad and Your Honor) intimidating and frightening on set. His quiet energy belied his mischievous nature and curious mind… And he loved sharing a good joke. I miss him already. Rest now, Mark and thank you for your friendship and your exceptional body of work.

Friday, August 27th, HBO is airing my movie, All the Way. I play Lyndon Johnson in this entertaining film of the 36th president, during one, very tumultuous, year. It happens to be President Johnson’s 113th birthday on Friday. While it’s a little too late to celebrate with him, you can learn about his accomplishments while also enjoying his spry personality by watching the movie…kinda like those stimulus machines that work you out while sitting on the couch.
I’m sincerely proud of the work that went into making this film a lasting piece of historic entertainment.
Record it on Friday, August 27 on HBO at 5:45P ET/PT.

As I look at this photo (for the first time) it strikes me that this is what the audience sees – and I’ve never experienced that in the plays I’ve been in. It makes me smile to know just how special it is to perform on Broadway, and how lucky we are to tell the stories to all the devoted theatre goers. If you’re heading to New York soon – I strongly recommend seeing the Broadway show, PURLIE VICTORIOUS. Written by the great actor Ossie Davis Jr. over 60 years ago, it’s as if it was written today. Funny and provocative. The performances by Leslie Odom Jr. (Tony winner from Hamilton) as Purlie Victorious, and a performer I didn’t know (but now will never forget) Kara Young as Lutiebelle Gussie Mae Jenkins, lead a great cast at the Music Box Theatre. Go see it!
