“Where do negative thoughts come from?”
My response:
I assume you mean recurring, intrusive, persistent, negative thoughts.
They arise from the unconscious thought patterns established by our past thinking habits.
You can’t change them by trying to push them away or with willpower.
When you consciously notice a thought, it has arisen to the surface level of the mind, like a bubble that has come up from the bottom of the lake to the surface.
To change the thought patterns that give rise to negative thoughts, you must go beyond the surface level of the mind to pure consciousness, the source of thought, your true Self.
When you meditate, you experience this source of thought as your Being.
Over time, this experience of the source of thought dissolves those deep impressions and frees the mind from negative thoughts.

If you have loved that someone (or at least felt like it was love), should you tell him or her if you feel uneasy and scared at the thought?
How do you get over the feeling of fear and inability and just be sincere with the other person?
I feel like this is something important that needs to be answered.
I thought I might be overlooking something, which is why I decided to ask.”
My response:
When you first begin to feel romantic love for another person it opens your heart and senses.
You want to be close to them, and bring them past your emotional barriers and defenses you have built to protect your heart.
So along with the feelings of love, it is natural to also feel vulnerable, exposed, and afraid.
The fear of rejection can paralyze you.
It can stir up feelings of self-doubt whether one’s feelings are appropriate or genuinely love.
There is no simple answer for whether your experience right now is true love, or whether you will feel the risk of rejection is worth it.
But your feelings of love are nevertheless a significant and powerful event in your life right now.
It has arisen in your life journey because it is a meaningful opportunity in your journey to becoming a loving, compassionate and giving person.
Be brave and explore the possibilities.
Don’t think that there is a “right” way to do this that isn’t scary and uncomfortable.
There isn’t.
Remember that your ego mind will tell you that the heartbreak of rejection and misunderstanding is too painful to endure.
That’s not true.
Your spiritual heart is unbreakable, and always loves without condition.
Your ego will tell you that if the relationship doesn’t work out, then you are a failure and there is something wrong with you.
That is also wrong.
You are a unique, evolving person with diverse qualities, but you are always spiritually complete.
No experience, positive or negative, can diminish or augment your true nature, which is pure love.
Falling in love is an opportunity to deepen your awakening of this reality, by finding your loving self in the self of another.

“Intellectually I understand that consciousness is the ground of all being and all other principles you teach.
I practice meditation, try to live a mindful life, and take time to reflect upon myself.
Although I do all this, there is some kind of resistance that I feel when it comes to embracing/accepting these principles.
Upon reflecting on why it seems like I am demanding evidence before I can fully embrace it.
I don’t know but this could be because of my conditioning living in this world.
When I think, maybe the materialists are right, I reject that thought from the core of my being, I don’t even have to try too hard.
I believe there is meaning to life and why we are here.
I also understand from your teaching that it’s the experience of the divine that gives me the evidence.
Then how do I get over the hurdle that demands the evidence in the first place?
What is my real obstacle and how do I overcome that to fully embrace and appreciate the truth?”
My response:
Given your strong understanding that your true Self is not defined or limited to physical matter, I am not sure that it is scientific evidence that you are looking for.
You are certain of your core identity as consciousness.
It is the deeper development of your experience of the Self, beyond intellectual understanding that you long for and that is what you feel is an obstacle to the truth.
This is a good stage of development in your awakening.
It means you are ready for this inner Self to find itself outside in others and the world around you.
Now you will begin to expand your knowledge and sense of Self into your everyday experience.
When the unlimited consciousness of meditation is recognized in the unbounded quality of your raw sensory experience of your body and world, then you will begin to know your true Self with a certainty that is unassailable to conventional materialist arguments.

“I am 39 years old and have a constant desire to do something or the other.
I want to learn new things, meet people, join different groups, etc.
I don’t know what I am searching for exactly.
I have been advised by friends to be happy and satisfied with what I have but I feel it is death.
My basic instinct is to learn and explore.
Remaining satisfied with what I have will rot me, it is stagnancy for me.
I am pro-growth at any age.
Most of the situations I come across I can handle.
It gives me mental satisfaction that I am not only doing my routines but also taking part in what the world is offering me at a given point in time.
I am enriching myself.
But in doing so I have realized that the happiness of the past events doesn’t stay with me.
I am always looking for new things and new thrills.
Do I need to look within?
Do you think I should change something within myself?”
My response:
It’s a good thing to have a mindset that is always growing, learning, and exploring.
That is the nature of life.
However, this new growth doesn’t necessarily lead to a sense of wisdom, compassion, and real happiness if there is not a stable, contented inner Self upon which it can build.
If we feel empty and reject our present reality, then no amount of stimulus or searching will fill that hole.
I think that is what your friends are pointing at.
They don’t want you to stop growing and enriching yourself.
They only want you to do it from a place where you feel good about yourself, and feel grateful for the blessings in your life.
That feeling of gratitude and contentment doesn’t mean you feel complacent or stagnant—just the opposite.
It provides the value and sense of direction for your desire to grow, learn, and improve your world.

“Over the years, I have been intuitively drawn to various healers and several forms of emotional and physical cleansing.
Regardless of the modality, regular healings seem to initiate a response whereby my mind/body is confronted with old emotions – for fleeting moments, or sometimes several days, the emotion becomes acute and raw – before it appears to be released or neutralized.
Would you regard this process of ‘unveiling’ old emotions as a necessary step in healing?
Is it something we can all expect as we strive for greater well-being, or am I manifesting this ritual myself?”
My response:
Holistic healing will certainly need to include emotional healing, but how that healing presents itself will differ greatly between individuals.
In your case, the process of emotional release seems to be appropriate.
I suspect a conscious healing of the emotional aspect of your wound is an intrinsic part of your process.
But this is not the case for everyone.
Some people may need a healing process that is largely neutral from an emotional point of view.
This may be because even the memory of the original painful experience can be felt as re-traumatizing, so the mind/body processes the emotional part through the physical body.
Either way is fine as long as the end result is healing and wholeness.
