It’s officially NDAM and I am so thankful for everything Diabetes has given me. I was diagnosed at a young age, and spent many years feeling insecure about my condition, with very low self confidence. I was worried about acceptance, becoming a cyborg, my quality of life, building a family, and being able to do the things that I love. What I want the world to know about Diabetes is: While it is a serious chronic disease, with responsibility and new technology like Dexcom CGM, you can accomplish anything! I do my best to show people that living an adventurous life is possible. Now I hold my head high, I’ve come a long way, and I’m always evolving. If I can have a fulfilling life, and start the family of my dreams, you can too. Being part cyborg isn’t all bad. On a sidenote. Because of the strike, I’ve had a lot of time to put into diabetes advocating. From speaking at Leadership Summits, to blitzing the capital with the JDRF, to promoting my documentary @breakinglimitsfilm. One of my favorite partnerships has always been Dexcom. The opportunities that I’ve had, and the people that I’ve met along the way have changed my life in the best way. Dexcom is one of my proudest partnerships, and I know this device is making a difference for people managing diabetes. #phoenixupdate I got to spend some time with family lately! Phoenix and his brother Auggie are wild boys. Phoenix is in first grade now, crazy right?! So happy to have time to see these little turkeys. ❤️ Thanks to everyone who has been asking about Phoenix, he is doing well. Still using the G-Tube for feeds, but learning every day.
