These are the values of Keir Starmer’s Labour:
❌ Keep the Tory Bedroom Tax
❌ Keep the Tory two-child benefit cap
❌ Keep the Tory rape clause
❌ Keep tuition fees in England
📢 You can’t trust Labour to deliver change when they won’t even scrap the cruellest Tory policies. Scottish Parliament Building

A real pleasure to catch up with Taoiseach @leovaradkar in Dublin earlier this week at the British-Irish Council.
🏴 🇮🇪 The friendship between Scotland and Ireland, our nations and our people, is long and enduring.
Through closer co-operation, I look forward to further strengthening that bond. Dublin, Ireland
The @scottishtuc rally was an opportunity to re-dedicate ourselves to the fight against racism and fascism.
To say loud and clear that Scotland rejects hatred and intolerance in all of its forms.
And I’ll be with you every step of the way as we seek to advance equality for all. Glasgow, Scotland

🏴 🏴 Thanks to @markdrakefordwales for the opportunity to catch up ahead of the British-Irish Council in Dublin today.
We discussed the importance of Scotland and Wales working together to ensure devolution is fully respected by Westminster, following the Chancellor’s inadequate Autumn Statement that fails to invest in public services and tackle the cost of living crisis. Dublin, Ireland
🏴 Whatever you are doing to celebrate, I wish you all fun and friendship this St Andrew’s Day!
It’s a time when our diaspora communities around the world come together to celebrate their connections and shared love for Scotland.
As the nights draw in – and our schools and faith communities share in many festivals of light – I know the kindness and compassion of people living in Scotland, or who have a Scottish connection, will burn bright.
Whether you are:
• Raising money for charity,
• Volunteering within your community,
• Safeguarding our natural environment,
• Donating essentials to those in need,
• Holding an inter faith service,
• Taking care of the shopping for a family member,
• Inviting an elderly neighbour for a meal this St Andrew’s Day,
• Or, sharing your personal connection with Scotland through our new Diaspora platform,
I invite you to reflect on the great many things – big or small – that we can all do to improve the communities we live in every day of the year, here in Scotland and abroad.
And, as we celebrate St Andrew’s Day – at concerts, ceilidhs, and dinners – let’s also raise a cup of kindness to the 800 million people who live in countries affected by fragility, conflict, and violence.
In Scotland, we’re fortunate to enjoy the peace and freedom of a stable democracy, which we should never take for granted.
And, personally, I’d like to thank all the essential workers and community volunteers who will be keeping us safe this winter and into the new year.
Together, let’s ensure that everyone feels welcome in Scotland, and that Scotland speaks out for everyone in need.
So, whether you’ve planned a cosy night in, or are already ironing your tartan troos for The Gay Gordons – and, yes, I can confirm I am that guy who always forgets the steps despite having attended dozens of Ceilidhs before!
Our planet is at a tipping point, radical and ambitious action is needed to limit global warming to 1.5°C. The gathering of the global community at #COP28 is pivotally important in the fight against climate change. Only by working together can we meet the need and urgency of the task that lies ahead.
Scotland has demonstrated that we can lead the way on taking tangible steps, however collective action is needed to tackle the climate emergency and address the devastating effects of climate change, in particular loss and damage. We simply do not have time to work alone when it comes to our just transition to net-zero.
During the next two weeks, the Scottish Government looks forward to sharing our net-zero progress, showcasing our strides in sustainability and engaging in meaningful dialogue on climate action.
COP28 also allows the Scottish Government to advance international relations and build partnerships. Scottish companies will be attending to enhance Scotland’s global reputation, particularly on renewable energy. It’s also an opportunity to attract investment in strategic net zero sectors in Scotland.
At the British-Irish Council in Dublin last week, we discussed our shared ambition to tackle child poverty and improve people’s wellbeing.
2023 marks 25 years since the Belfast Agreement, a timely reminder that peace can be achieved, no matter how hopeless things may appear. Dublin, Ireland
This morning @neil_graysnp and I met with Petroineos.
@scotgov is engaging with the owners, trade unions and the UK Government in an effort to support the refinery & crucially the workforce.
We will do everything we possibly can to ensure a sustainable future for Grangemouth.
