Section III of the 14th Amendment bars insurrectionists from federal office. Colorado courts affirmed the House of Representatives and a Senate majority in finding that Trump incited the Jan. 6 insurrection. If an insurrectionist president isn’t disqualified from holding office under Section III, who is?
Even our right-wing Supreme Court must see Donald Trump’s bizarre claim of lifelong presidential immunity against criminal prosecution as an intolerable assertion that he’s a king above the law. What’s next—shooting someone on 5th Avenue?
The next time Republicans cry obstruction, remember that they rejected Hunter Biden’s offer to testify in public. James Comer realizes a little sunlight would expose his impeachment probe for the sham it is.
Amazing that Republicans would call a hearing to lecture the IRS about efficiency and organization after the GOP has plunged Congress into chaos, insurrection, coup, government shutdowns and now endless factional infighting.
This is a case brought by Republicans to bar Trump from the GOP ballot because of his participation in insurrection, a rule added to the 14th Amendment by Republicans. Insurrection, Lincoln said, attacks the people’s right to choose their leaders.
Donald Trump is working out of the authoritarian playbook: attacking the rule of law, denying his election losses, legitimizing political violence. Calling his political opponents “vermin,” Trump wants to return to government as Vladimir Putin—or worse.
Since January 6th, 2021, threats of violence and retaliation have become standard operating procedure in Trump’s GOP. As House Republicans cannibalize each other, the lingering group of moderates now find themselves targets of the GOP’s own vindictive wrath.

Hydrogen offers a promising clean energy solution, but only if it is produced from renewable energy rather than dirty fossil fuel. In today’s Treasury guidance, the Biden Administration has shown its strong commitment to positive hydrogen solutions and a clean energy transition. Creating a truly clean hydrogen industry that supports climate rescue depends on us getting things right today. I look forward to seeing a final rule that retains these strong and achievable climate standards.
