Matthew Hussey Instagram - I want to give a huge thank you to the people behind our wedding, @lyndenlane. @lyndenlane are renowned event planners and interior designers, but I came across them because they planned my friend’s wedding. Live events are something I've had a passion for since starting my company, and my standards are HIGH! But this was one of the most beautiful events I’d ever seen. As a result, we had our hearts set on working with them and they completely blew us away . . . 🕯️ When Audrey and I expressed we didn't want to spend a fortune on flowers, they went out and bought an insane number of candles and hung string lighting for a third of the price. The result was absolutely breathtaking (see pic). 🍴They brought their own silverware in an extra (and undoubtedly VERY heavy) piece of luggage they lugged all the way to Italy because they preferred it to the silverware the venue provided. 🪡 When Audrey's dress broke right before the ceremony, they calmly sewed her back into it on the spot! 🪩 They anticipated Audrey's feet hurting during the party so had bought ahead of time a pair of comfy sneakers for her to change into late in the evening. 🤍 They learned all our family members' names and faces before the wedding day so they could make each and every one of them feel special when they got there. This is to name but a few unbelievable details-(remember what I’ve said before about the trash cans? [IYKYK] Well, @lyndenlane show what this looks like in action). And this is just what they did on the weekend. They also spent a year executing our dream vision for our wedding, as well as helping us understand what that was. It was extraordinary. We learned so much from working with them that I'm now thinking of doing an entire podcast with them on how to plan an unforgettable event—whether it’s a wedding, a special birthday party, or any kind of seasonal event. Matthew Hussey Instagram - The right person will nurture who you are, encourage more of it, and support the expansion of your identity. If anything, you should feel like your identity has grown as a result of being with them. If you’ve lost your sense of self, something is wrong. It means you’re allowing yourself to subjugate your own needs, wants, and desires in service of pleasing and being close to someone else. This may create the illusion of "closeness" in your relationship to begin with, but will eventually result in a loss of attraction as your partner forgets what was unique and different about you. By all means merge your life with someone else's, but just remember who YOU are in the process ❤️

Matthew Hussey Instagram - When we like someone, we're often so afraid of losing them that we let our boundaries slip and slide. We will willingly stay in a situation that's not going anywhere for months or even years . . . all in the name of connection—holding on tightly to the hope of how great things could be. As we all know, extricating yourself from a situation gets harder and harder over time. In truth, the writing is usually on the wall from the beginning, and how you respond to it in the early stages will set the tone for the kind of treatment you are willing to tolerate. When you think you might be seeing warning signs or amber flags, there are three specific steps you can take: Step 1: Communicate that what they're doing is in breach of your standard. Step 2: Decide (with yourself) how much time you are willing to gamble while waiting for that behavior to improve. Step 3: Stick to that time frame and hold firm to your boundary. By keeping that promise to yourself and sticking to your timeline, you are both communicating an important message to yourself and saving yourself a lot of potential pain and regret down the road.

The officer with him tries it and yelps at the burn. “It damn well hurts!” says the officer. “Certainly it hurts,” says Lawrence. “Well, what’s the trick then?” asks the officer. Lawrence replies, “The trick . . . is not minding that it hurts.” Forget trying to avoid pain.
