Because the best travel stories aren’t just about places, they’re about people and the connections we make. 😌 Speaking their language, even just a little bit, is like a magic key. In Kerala, every ‘Nanni’ in Malayalam was met with a spark in the locals’ eyes – it was their way of saying, ‘You’re one of us now.’ 😉 language is more than words; it’s an expression of respect and love for the culture I’m exploring. YOU CAN’T MISS VARKALA! I went with @highontripsbyrg !!🏝 This beautiful little cliff beach town has to be on top of every beach destination list. It’s so cute and small yet has such wonderful unique gems that will surprise you for the best❤️ Do not miss eating at Cafe Sarwaa, Cafe Del Mara, Abba Restaurant and Inda Cafe 🤤 Best time to visit here is between October to March! But I didn’t have to worry about any of this cause I went with @highontripsbyrg and they took care of everything by curating the most amazing offbeat yet luxurious itinerary for me and my mom! Highly recommend them!! But if you’re going by yourself, I’d suggest you to rent a scooty and explore! Things to know before a Hammam bath- 🫧Hammams are separate for men and women. 🫧You are ALMOST naked in there, just a thin towel. 🫧It’s a communal space, so it’s considered disrespectful to flash somebody. WOULD YOU DO THIS?😍✨ Who knew exploring Sri Lanka could be SO MUCH FUN on a tuktuk? Growing up in India, I think all of us have at some point wanted to ride a rickshaw and so when I got to know that you could actually rent a tuktuk in Sri Lanka I had to do it!!🛺 It was so much fun riding around the streets with the wind in my hair!! Everyone looked at me like wtf is this woman doing riding a tuktuk but I continued zipping around!!🤣 I also crashed it twice btw 🫡 so it wasn’t all rainbows & sunshine 🤣 Renting one in Sri Lanka is easier than you think! Usually it costs around $20-$30 a day, and all you need is your valid driver’s license, passport copy and a passport size picture of you. I rented with @tuktukrental They even have e-tuktuks for rental. They gave me a 2 day driving lesson and also came and@picked it up from a different village. Super smooth!
