@wicked_musical legend @amandajanecoop began her Wicked journey while studying Musical Theatre in Carnegie Mellon University, when she performed ‘Popular’ for Stephen Schwartz during a masterclass, and Schwartz encouraged her to submit her headshot and resumé to Telsey casting. She joined Wicked’s Emerald City Touring company as Glinda in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on April 19, 2011.
Departing the tour after a seven month contract, Amanda Jane moved to LA to pursue film and television work. After appearing in multiple projects for the screen, she made her long-awaited return to Wicked on December 9, 2015 on the show’s Munchkinland Tour, going on to play some of the largest houses in the country. She concluded her contract on March 13, 2017.
On July 31, 2017, Miss Cooper made her Broadway debut in the bubble where she went on to play the role for Wicked’s landmark 6,000th and 15th anniversary performances, concluding her run on December 9, 2018, three years to the day from the beginning of her Munchkinland return.
During her Broadway contract, Amanda Jane had the distinction of shooting the 15th Anniversary Broadway B-Roll. The first American B-Roll commissioned since 2005. And one that is still currently used to promote the show nation wide.
Miss Cooper has since made two brief returns to the Gershwin, the first playing Glinda for a brief two-week stint in February 2022, and the second as temporary standby coverage in 2023, during which she performed several times, including for the show’s landmark 7,000th performance.

City Relief is a mobile pop-up that provides hot meals, supplies, and community to people experiencing homelessness & poverty in NJ + NY. I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand the amazing ways they love people. It’s going to be a special night!
