Ami Park Instagram – This birthday hits different 💐 ..
All I wanted for my birthday is to be with my mom. I’m so grateful for her. I wouldn’t be here without her. I’m cherishing the little moments I so wanted to skip when I was younger because I kept striving for only the BIG ones.
But I’m now realizing that wasn’t really me.. that was just the survival in me trying to impress my family so that we were all assimilating and becoming more accepted into this western culture.
But now I yearn to lean into my Korean roots 🇰🇷
To know what it’s like to speak my native tongue more than I do English. To cook Korean food and learn about all of the different types of herbs and all of their medicinal qualities. I want to meet my 101 year old great grandmother who ran her farm for decades and learn how to grow and ferment different Korean crops from her.
So many things I crave to do and be 😌🙏🏼
This year has taught me to not play small.
To CHOOSE myself. To put my intuition above all. I’ve learned how to be comfortable with the WHOLE of me. Not just a few versions, but becoming deep lovers with all parts of who I am, and who I am becoming.
I yearn to continue my growth, to be a student, and to ferociously forge my path to be all of who I am meant to be.
