Bluey’s World is coming to Brisbane! Soon you’ll be able to journey through Bluey’s home via life-size sets and interactive play, inspired by everyone’s favourite episodes. BBC Studios and HVK Productions are creating the immersive experience. The world-exclusive premiere is set to be held at Hamilton’s Northshore Pavilion in August 2024 with our support. It means fans will be able to explore the Heeler family’s renowned cul-de-sac, wander through Bluey and Bingo’s playroom, and venture beyond to the backyard under the poinciana tree. Our government has backed Bluey from the start, and we’re so proud of how it’s captivated audiences around the globe. We can’t wait to bring more of Queensland to the world through this amazing new experience. Tickets will be available from early next year. #bluey

What happened at Wieambilla last year was a tragedy. When Constable Matthew Arnold, Constable Rachel McCrow and Alan Dare were senselessly killed, every Queenslander felt the impact. It’s why I brought the idea of a National Firearms Registry to the National Cabinet. At today’s meeting, it was agreed to implement it. I want to thank the Prime Minister, Premiers and Chief Ministers for supporting this important reform. It will help protect first responders – and keep our community safer.

When you’re battling cancer, you deserve the best possible care. That’s why we’re building the 150-bed Queensland Cancer Centre. It will be one of only two places in Australia to offer proton beam therapy. The state-of-the-art new treatment can more precisely target cancers near vital organs. It’s especially beneficial for babies and kids. Right now, families have to make difficult decisions about whether they can afford to travel for their child’s treatment. Sometimes young people need a bit of extra help. At our Queensland Pathways State Colleges around the state, students who have struggled in mainstream education are getting that help. It means more support to complete Year 12 and get on the path to further education, training and employment. As the students and staff at Coorparoo told me – it works. That’s why we’re doubling the amount of Colleges from six to twelve. It’s part of a big package we’re launching to keep young people engaged in education. It also includes 50 new FlexiSpaces in schools, and more frontline case workers to provide support to those most in need. It’s an investment in their future – and in Queensland’s too. #education
