It’s a different feeling to see your parents receiving an award.
Two days back my Appa was given Louis Cardeno Award for Lifetime Achievement in journalism. From picking his shirt for the event to waiting for his turn, everything gave me a glimpse of what he would have gone through while sending me to school the first time or watched me perform at events like a play fest or watching Neelathamara’s first show.
Whatever little writing skills I have is because I learnt from the best. He taught me the basics of reporting when I was in the junior building. This award didn’t come as a surprise as it was long overdue. This truly is a testament to his dedication and contributions to this field.
