18 hour drive. Over the Canadian border and through three states and I’m almost in LA. I’ve been on a quest for what feels like “home” for a few years now. Is it a place? Is it a person? Is it a passion? And then I find the ocean. Or a river. Or a sky full of stars. And I remember all over again. It’s an energy. A feeling deep inside that can be carried with us wherever we go always. Nature reminds us of this. Recalibrates us. It meets us where we’re at yet reminds us where we’re from. That feeling of expansion and trust and beauty and limitless possibility and unconditional love? Home. Available for us 24.7, 365 days a year for the rest of our lives. No matter where we are. It’s just a matter of remembering. And tuning in. 💛💛💛

…What planet am I on?! 🌝 Happy Full moon in Aquarius my fellow weirdos. ✨✨
Been feeling so disturbed by the spike in violence towards Asian Americans this past year. Because my partner is Chinese I’ve been aware of this for awhile but not sure if I would be otherwise because it’s been so underreported. Through him I’ve become deeply aware of the effects of white privilege and supremacy on the lives of the Asian community. Holding the vision for a country where our Asian brothers and sisters are honored and completely safe to be themselves. 🙏🏼💜. . #repost @kimsaira • Include Asian Americans in your anti-racism work. Due to covid, Asians have seen a spike of xenophobia & racist hate crimes all throughout the world that need to be spoken about & accounted for. 〰️ Historically, Asians have faced disparities such as the model minority myth. The model minority myth was created by Americans during post WWII, to portray the narrative that Asian immigrants successfully assimilated, despite experiencing racism in America. 〰️ This is not only harmful & incredibly racist, but farther from the actual truth. 〰️ The model minority myth was created to pit Asians against other BIPOC races, especially during a time where mass Asian immigration was happening in America. 〰️ Also, it fails to recognize the different experiences of all different Asian racial groups, & also ignores Southeast Asian populations such as Thai, Vietnamese, Philippines, Hmong, Laotian, Cambodian, and South Asians such as Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, as well as Indigenous people. It diminishes their real struggles, & wipes away their history & trauma. 〰️ Due to the model minority myth, people have grouped Asian Americans with the likeness of white people. 〰️ Please support and stand up for Asian American communities. Remember them in your anti-racism work. Hate crimes are happening everywhere, we need the media to be covering them, & there needs to be accountability for them. 〰️ ✨The quote last slide are from @seoulcialite!! 〰️
