While this day has unsettling history, I always choose to focus on the future and look forward to another year. I choose to be grateful today for what we HAVE, knowing that so many others are lacking around the world. Grateful for what we have accomplished, because this year came with so many trials and tribulations. But also grateful for what we have to look forward to, even though sometimes it’s hard to be optimistic, we must force ourselves to. At the end of the day, we cannot better ourselves, our family, or the world, if we do not believe there is a better future out there.
