The week started with my birthday, and I was a little sad that I couldn’t do anything i used to do every year on my birthdays. But the fact that I had a roof above my head, food on my plate, and my people beside me amidst all the chaos happened outside made me better!
2 days after we got signal & power back, we immediately wanted to do something we could from our end & started to share verified volunteers’ numbers, but in a couple of hours, it grew into something big that we didn’t expect. One such outfit is this semi banaras crop top and skirt set from (@athiradesigns)
A super cute crop top with attached sheer net and a flowy skirt with lots of flare. I still can’t decide what’s my favorite part about the dress, coz I just love everything about this dress and how it fits perfectly.
And the colour!! Aahh!! Gives you a royal look instantly and make heads turn in the crowd. I don’t own many outfits in this colour, so the moment I saw the dress, I knew I want it in my wardrobe.
It’s a great option to wear it for haldi, mehandi, sangeeth, birthday parties, family functions, oh come on, for what not!! You can be ready in a minute and slay anywhere!❤️
To elevate the trendiness of the look, we decided to go for a kutty jumkha and bangles. And when I looked at the mirror, I felt like a princess🙈 So I decided to go to the terrace during the golden hour to twirl my heart out and take some beautiful pictures with our team.

I’m sure all of us have close to heart ‘spots’!
They could be the ones that left you baffled, the ones that broke your heart or the ones that made you realise how beautiful life can be!
Hands down, if you ask me, which is that one of a kind place to me, I’d point my fingers at this most beautiful @novotelchennaisipcot 🪄
If you remember I had hosted a birthday here a couple of years ago. I cried the same day for some reason that broke me.
Fast forward, when I realised what was good for my life and moved on, I decided to stay alone for a while and chose the very same Novotel and one of its rooms. I clearly remember how my first therapy session kickstarted here. If someone were to know how much I cried through that phase, it could only be the walls of this room.
The same room saw my transformation from the lowest phase to my happiest self. Yes, there have been countless days when I stayed here during #kkk Shoot last year. As a fact this was extremely far from my shoot location yet I chose to be here as this was the only place that provided me the solace I needed.
Also, I’m not advocating any of you to go against your parents but there will be moments when you have to do it for your own betterment. Days when my mum used to reach out to me to be back home and when I could not face her due to my own insecurities and fear, I used to come back to this room to just sleep it out and cry it out.
Oh the staffs here have been (& will always be- I’m sure) extremely friendly & kind by helping me out throughout.
And now when I visited them again after a year, there they were to surprise me with this beautiful gesture that read “Welcome Home” ❤️
Trust me when I say, I cried looking at this, only to look up and see how my life has changed for the best today. 🧿❤️

One morning I had to decide to just take a stroll and travel through the city and look where I landed..!
“A bus stand” 📍🚎
A place where mass floating population walks in and out through any day. A whole surrounding where emotions run high for each one boarding a bus.
I saw college goers with bags and dreams, office goers wearing ID cards and wondering about their day and many more people who had so much work to do in the day trying to board their bus.
It took me a minute to realise I was definitely privileged where I could afford a cab if I really wish while there are a lot outside who wait for a bus even upon an emergency.
I just took a minute to send some prayers, luck and love to all those eyes I met that day at the bus stand to reach their dreams, wishes and desires and smile throughout their lives. 🤍
Littlest of what we could do, right? 😍
Also, with summer 🌞 scorching the city I wanted to stay simple and wore a chic white shirt and a pair of well fitted jeans!
Carried a pretty printed bag ( @zoukonline ) with me to put in everything from a phone to keys to wallet to literally every damn thing. These printed bags are something very Indian and carry an aesthetic with any kinda outfit! 💟

Another day. Another place. Another emotion.
Chennai and an MRTS journey is inseparable and I know what kind of an emotional rush it is to a lot of us living here.
Though today’s fast moving life has been taken over by these Metros I’m still huge a sucker for these MRTS trains. They have a whole lot of aesthetic and beauty, right? 🥹
To avoid peak hour rush, I’ve mostly tried boarding the ladies compartment and been astonished at all those strong women whose eyes would be filled with dreams.
Dreams to do big in their personal and professional life.
I’ve even had small conversations with some women in those journeys to understand how hard they strive to manage time and energy to make a living for them and their family!
To me, they all were super stars! 🔥

Your D is back again with a styling dress up game. OG’s remember our #littlegame we used to do a few years back ?🥹
For our 4th award event, I wanted to try something new and ordered an outfit online, but unfortunately, I didn’t receive it until 2 hours before the event. So I decided to go for styling an outfit myself with the basic knowledge and with the help of pinterest. I wanted to go for a saree or maxi dress. But pinterest had other ideas. Hehe. Right when I opened the app, it popped up a ruffle skirt outfit on the feed.
That’s when I remembered having a ruffle skirt myself, ( from @kanthadesignstdo ) that I sourced for Abi for season 1, but couldn’t use it. So I decided to go for it with a fitted white crisp shirt, that I used a couple of times for brand shoots. ( White shirts are an absolute staple piece in our wardrobe, because it can be styled in ‘n’ number of ways- take notes ) Over the years you’ve seen me style a white shirt in many ways paired with maxi skirts, cargo pants, different types of jeans, palazzo and formal pants.
I loved how this particular skirt and the shirt went well together, but with the 3 layered chain it seemed complete!❤️ ( and ofc with the medal and the award, it looked beyond perfect 🧿 )
I was nervous about the look since I styled it for an event. But right from the moment I stepped out of my room, everyone right from mom, dad, and people at the event complimented and approved the look. ( light ah proud feels 🌝 because it’s been ages since I styled myself )
