Elarica Johnson Instagram – MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE 🎄🎅 Not your usual Christmas delivery, but way more usual than you think. I was sent this advert – by @johnlewis a few weeks ago. I’d like to praise them and the team for putting together such a brilliant little story. It’s not often you see this on TV, I don’t think I’ve seen it on UK TV. It’s so important that people get a look into the reality of others, even if its is through a Christmas advert. THE CARE SYSTEM. Christmas time for so many children and young adults can be very difficult, weather it’s due to not having family or not feeling safe or at home. A lot of these children and young adults are In foster care or childrens homes. Out of the 12 million children living in England, just under 400,000 (3%) are known to the social care system at any one time. An estimated 5.4 million children live in foster care institutions around the world. I have included Instagrams of charities working with children in care. If all you come away with is a little more information and understanding, then this post wasn’t for nothing.
