Clark Atlanta University’s 40 Under 40 Young Alumni Achievement Awards.
As I age, I often think about the things I would have done differently in life thus far, especially in college. But had my path been carved in any other way, I wouldn’t be who or where I am— basking in abundance and deeply rooted in purpose. To my Alma Mater @cau1988 and to President Dr. George T. French and Vice President Dr. Lorri L. Saddler, I am honored and humbled by this moment of recognition to celebrate our legacy. Thank you 🤍

This year, I had the honor to attend the 13th annual Get Lit Gala not only as a supporter but as one of the newest board members of the organization. Get Lit’s mission is rooted in uplifting our youth through their uniqueness and authenticity, advancing their education and promoting literacy through spoken word. My connection to @dianelubylane and @getlitpoet goes back to my days in high school when my mother and I would watch @signedjaymarie perform as a youth poet. Thinking back, that was one of my first moments with the spoken word experience. I remember being mesmerized and inspired by the mountains she could move with her storytelling at such a young age. And years later, to serve alongside her on the board is a divine privilege.
Power and influence goes beyond what we can give. It lies in how we choose to show up— our presence and how we exchange with one another. A special thank you to our honorees @anderson._paak @wme and @vans for their contributions and celebrating the futures of our youth through their unwavering support.
To Diane and Get Lit, thank you for trusting me to serve alongside you to water storytellers. Creators. Visionaries. Communities. For generations. I am deeply humbled to be aligned and grateful for the opportunity 🖤
