So. Like. Ermmm. In the last two years I’ve been secretly werrrrrrking. On music. MY music. Why secret? Well… partly because I don’t boast or “build hype” prematurely 🤪😂. But actually I’d rather SHOW you than TELL you. But also, to be completely honest? I’ve been quiet about it because it’s scary lol.
Over the past two years I’ve been in rooms with some pretty fantastic folks. Made a bunch of songs… Some I like, some I think are OK, and some I absolutely love. Will you love them? I have no clue. The thing is, you’ve heard and seen me in various ways, but not always in the way I want to be heard or seen. Not sure if that matters to you but heck, it really matters to me! So it’s time to let you guys in! Slowly though. BABY STEPS. I’m going to try my best to be authentically me, even if it’s in a way that may not strike you as “expected”. Or maybe it will be just what you thought it would be? IDK BUT ITS KINDA EXCITING. Hope that’s okay. Love you guys and stay tuned. Bye for now ❤️

I can’t think of Punjabi weddings and NOT think of this gem… Of course we grew up singing LOTS of songs at weddings but Madhaniya has always struck a chord. “Kinna jamiya kinna ne le jaana”… sigh. The irony of being born by one and being ‘taken away’ by another – essentially breaks my heart lol. And then it’s like whoa your parents who worked so hard to keep you home are telling you it’s time to move out. 🥺
But it’s bittersweet, isn’t it? Growing pains. To move forward you always have to leave something behind… ♥️

I watch this and realize wow I’ve been working in the film music space for ten whole years and the journey until now has been hella cray. The ups and the downs, the living in doubt, it gives and it takes 📝. But I am beyond grateful for all that I’ve learned and all that’s to come. Time for a new chapter, should I call it the Jonita Era? Lol. Let’s take off 🚀
