When I found myself going through a devastating break up, I got some LIFE-ALTERING advice. It was to ask myself – how can I take responsibility, without blaming him, and without blaming myself? 🫠
It seemed impossible at first, while I was still so hurt. But taking responsibility in the end, was the only way to solve my anger. The only way for me to assess the situation objectively, to soften and actually change.
Fast-forward one year and I’m happily married to an amazing man. 👰🏾♀️❤️🤵🏾♂️
Men and Women, we are hurting. We’re lonelier than ever, the divorce rates have never been higher; and that’s for those of us who even make it down the aisle.
So how can we take responsibility?
There are systems and ideologies in place that are working against us. Systems that incentivize single-family homes. Ideologies that’ll cause wars in our minds and condition us away from our very natures. But these only work if we let them. 🙅🏾♀️

Society taught me that I was living in a man’s world. That our problems as women are because of men; that they are our oppressors. 🙅🏾♀️
I know far too many beautiful, accomplished successful, single and perpetually looking women and far too many lost boys 🫥 for this to go unsaid…
Modern-day feminism is a total scam🤯.
It creates angry women.
Angry women create weak men.
Weak men ruin everything.
Under the guise of uplifting women, it beats down our men. It inhibits men and women from coming together to achieve levels of power and success that wouldn’t be possible alone. If we combine our strengths we are unstoppable; and if we stopped fighting long enough, we might even discover who the real oppressors are. 🤫
We are equal but we are not the same. We make better companions than competitors. It’s time we revisit this polarity dynamic and ask ourselves – who does this really benefit? Because it’s definitely not women.

I did everything they said to do👇🏾
I went to school, I got my degree in molecular biology and biochemistry and business administration 🤓, I focused on my career, I got that bag💰 , I partied with my girls, I focused on ME – people are having kids later these days right? Plus motherhood looked… awful.
What they don’t tell us is that a degree will not fix emotional dysregulation, selfish women do not bring all the boys to the yard, the dating pool is dwindling as we focus on our career’s (and so are our eggs), IVF is VERY expensive and if we don’t snap out of our egocentric, consumeristic conditioning soon enough, we may wake up one day and it’s going to be too late.💩
(AND if motherhood is really as awful as it’s portrayed on TV no one would do it – but they do, so there’s gotta be more to it… perhaps even a biological pull towards a purpose in life other than making money and looking good – that might even fulfill us🤔)
Is it just me, or are modern, western women being steered in every direction except motherhood?
Considering rising depression rates, are we going in the right direction?

But you want to know the problem that supersedes insidious marketing to children?
The fact that our kids, in their most impressionable years, are spending more time in school than learning from and with the people who care about them the most. And that’s normal. We don’t even question it – but why?
If we don’t feel smart enough to teach our kids – did we learn anything in school?
If we don’t have the money to stay home with our kids – did it give us the knowledge to be successful?
If we don’t have the support to stay home with our kids – did it instill in us the emotional stability necessary to have good relationships?

Y’all aren’t going to believe this 😳
I used to be afraid of social media. I was even envious of my fellow industry folks who made posting look so… effortless.
Rather than acknowledging it however, I told myself that social media just, “wasn’t my thing”, or, “I didn’t have the time”. I even got on my high horse and told myself that I don’t share because I was, “living in the moment”. (Which was true at times, don’t get me wrong.)
What I didn’t realize was that, if I was being honest, behind all those excuses, was fear: fear of judgement, fear of rejection fear of saying the wrong thing…
I was afraid to express myself and I had been telling myself the story that I didn’t know how. I mean, I had no problem playing a character on TV, I’m hilarious when I’m with my friends and family😆, but when it came to publicly expressing my real self…😬
In order to finally let this story go, I had to examine its source.
I’m sharing this because I know I’m not alone.
The way of society and the education system is not exactly suited for kids to learn how to confidently speak and express themselves, in fact it’s just the opposite. We’re told to sit down and shut-up and face public humiliation if we step out of line…
➡️ The self-deprecating thoughts we have of ourselves then, become the limiting stories we tell ourselves for a lifetime.
Now, I’m happy to say I’m writing a new story – and this new story has limitless possibilities.
