When I say I am an actor people tend to say “what an exciting profession to be part of!”, and it is! But, at times, it can also be an incredibly lonely profession as well.
On a film set you are constantly surrounded by an average of 50-90 people at all times. However, when the word ‘Action’ is called, ultimately all eyes are on the actor or actors; and it’s up to us to inhabit characters we might be wildly different from; and to feel an array of emotions from heart wrenching grief to ecstatic joy and everything in between. The weight of expectation to deliver, the pressure to not let the team down, and to turn on emotions at the drop of a hat can feel phenomenally lonely.
That’s why I’m supporting the @dcmsgovuk Better Health: Every Mind Matters loneliness campaign, because I know first hand that no matter how things might appear on the surface, inside someone can be hiding tremendous loneliness, and I want to encourage people to check on one another and make sure they’re OK. I get to a new country, go straight to the hotel, and into hair and makeup to get ready for whatever press engagement I’m there for, so I don’t really get to actually see the country I’m in. I’m determined to change that pattern, so when @omega invited me to #mykonos I decided to stay a week extra to explore a bit more of Greece. I traveled to #Paros first and then onto Santorini… and I can honestly say of the 3 Greek islands I visited, it was Santorini that captured my heart. As well pics of detox my holiday in India, here are some of the insights I gained from being at @pemawellnessresort that might be helpful…
1) I’ve been a vitamin junkie all my life but I learnt from Dr Murthy that the body really doesn’t need vitamins or supplements if your digestive system is working correctly and you have a good diet. So I’ve ditched the supplements and am focusing on healing my digestive system naturally.
2) I always expected healing to happen instantly, but I discovered true healing generally is slow and incremental, it’s about the daily seemingly insignificant changes you make to your routine e.g. watching Tv or being on your phone whilst eating seems harmless, but actually Dr Muthumurugan taught me that our full concentration needs to be on our food to ensure we digest it properly. No distractions and chew each mouthful of food 25-30 times.
3) Dr Pahlad taught me that our breath is the most important tool we have for healing… the slower and more deeply we breathe, the longer we live and healthier we are, so yoga and deep breathing are essential. Invaluable lessons to return to the mayhem of city living with!

Every year I do a tech detox. So no phone or email for a month, I combine it with a staycation or visit to a wellness centre to focus on my mental, emotional and physical health. It’s my way of reminding myself that health is my number 1 priority… always.

Anna Scher was my much beloved drama teacher, and has left an indelible mark on my life. From the age of 9 to 18, I eagerly attended Anna’s theatre school, immersing myself in her classes twice weekly. It was under Anna’s guidance that I took my first steps towards a professional career, and I doubt I would have had the career I’ve had without her. As a shy child, Anna empowered me to believe in my talent, drawing me out of my shell.
Anna was a formidable woman in the very best sense of the word, fiercely individualistic and unafraid to be fully herself. Dressed in her iconic purple leggings, leg warmers, and skirt, she introduced us to the “word of the week” to expand our vocabulary, and instilled the value of preparedness and staying humble. Anna’s exacting nature stemmed from her unwavering faith in our potential. The rigorous improvisational drills often starting with her favourite opening line… ‘I’ve had it up to here with you..”.. we’d be paired up and have to jump straight into ad-libbing in front of the class. It was nerve wracking, but those improvisational drills provided us with an opportunity to express ourselves and find our voices in ways that still serve me today.
Anna gave us more than just acting; she was a true educator, expanding our minds and instilling self-belief. Coming from diverse, often underprivileged, backgrounds, we learned to get along, guided by the belief that hard work pays off. Anna cared just as much, if not more, about who we were as people, as actors. She instilled in us a work ethic that set us apart, fostering greater awareness and compassion for others.
Anna’s unique approach is evident in the successful careers of many actors that attended her classes, her contribution to the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of children is immeasurable as well as to the acting profession as a whole. As one of those whose life was touched, I feel immense gratitude. Rest in Peace Anna; you live on in our hearts always.

I have wanted to design clothes since I was a child, and during lockdown that passion got re-ignited when I decided to use the time on my hands to start designing again. I then came across the incredible clothing brand @OMNES whose ambition to create sustainable, price inclusive, and size inclusive clothes perfectly aligned with my own. I reached out to them via DM on Instagram and asked them if they’d let me design a capsule collection for them… and thankfully they said Yes! Last night was the culmination of a year and a half of working together to bring that collection to life, and make it available for YOU!!
I really hope you enjoy wearing the designs as much as I enjoyed creating them, each one is full of passion and love. Just watched @seaspiracy and cried my eyes out. What an utterly bizarre species we are! What we do to each other, to our fellow inhabitants of this planet, the animals, and the total lack of care and compassion we show to this planet we have been gifted is absolutely mind boggling! It’s not a fun watch, but EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THE FACTS outlined in this documentary. If you’re late in viewing it, like me, please do take a moment to view it. We can’t all become activists, we can’t all change our behaviour overnight 100% but at the very least let’s start to become educated and aware and take steps daily to do better! We are capable of so much more than the way we currently behave. I truly believe in our potential to be great! Let’s all help and encourage each other to do more!! Love & light always ❤️❤️
In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the @Omega #Seamaster, and the launch of the Seamaster in Summer Blue watch Collection, I was invited to the island of Mykonos (my first time in Greece!) along with a number of other incredible ambassadors and friends of the brand, including the phenomenal #georgeclooney @ijessewilliams and @diego to honour this milestone occasion.
Listening to Raynald, CEO, talk about Omega’s commitment to retaining a belief in magic and making the impossible possible reminded me why I have been an Omega brand ambassador for close to a decade now. In a world where it’s easy to be cynical, we all have to work extra hard to protect our belief in miracles. It’s that belief that has constantly driven Omega as a brand to push boundaries, and set new standards in watchmaking, by creating, amongst many other firsts, the world’s first and only watch that can withstand astounding depths of 6000 meters below sea level and remain there for a mind-boggling 48 hours!
