I decided to support a young talent from my country by wearing a full look from Nour Takieddine’s D2D collection.

•A collection inspired by the Dada art movement, created as a reaction to the violence and absurdity of world war 1.
In such hard times, I believe in the power of art as a great way to express our emotions, and rebel against the way our world functions today.

•Nour Takieddine’s collection was a perfect fit for my way of thinking, and I really wanted to wear this look tonight that consists of an extravagant jacket, with a fully hand embroidered back illustration of Emmy Hennings.
I saw a part of me in this woman, and that was an extra reason for me to pick this specific look.

•Hennings was a bold artist, poet, and performer who fought so much for her thoughts and questioned a lot the societal norms. All the handwork on the back of this jacket started from a one line drawing technique done by Nour, representing an autoportrait of Emmy.

•The look also consists of an asymmetric skirt that has a deconstructed waistline, and a curvy hem another way to rebel against what we think is ‘normal’, the outfit is embellished with plexy laser cut elements representing words and geometric shapes referencing Dadaist paintings and exploring new materials that are considered odd or weird applied on fabric.

• to complete the look with these special heels with hand embroidered abstract faces inspired by DaDa collages and plexy embellishments ✨
