Here’s a headshot that I created with the talented @kenpivak I can’t really put it to use right now due to the ongoing strike, but I’ve used this industry pause to reflect on what draws me to acting.
Acting is a masterclass in empathy and self-discovery—an invitation to step into someone else’s shoes but at the same time use different sides of myself. Tuning more up for one part and down for another. Understanding the characters’ joys and sorrows and truly grasping the many shades of the human experience. It allows for creativity and freedom in the experiment of being human without judgement. It’s how it compels me to let down my guard and shed the stories I have about myself, both in my work as an artist and in my life.
As actors, we’re alchemists, transforming emotions into relatable moments, and I think this mirrors our personal lives in many ways. We have the opportunity to choose the characters we want to portray in this life and choose how we show up in our lives. Yes, we are that powerful!
The craft of acting isn’t just about scripts and stages; it’s about uncovering the layers of humanity, breathing life into characters who carry the weight of their stories, and using my own experiences to relate to and have compassion for others. 🌟
My thoughts go out to everyone affected by this strike, and I sincerely hope for a resolution as soon as possible. I deeply cherish this craft.

🙏🏻 I missed sharing on my birthday and Thanksgiving, so I want to say thanks for the overwhelming birthday love and sweet messages. Each one is deeply appreciated, along with the person behind those kind words.
I’m so grateful for where I am in my life and the incredible people surrounding me—I’ve never felt this loved and truly blessed. The beautiful trips and nature experiences I had this year have been amazing.
A couple of years ago when I metaphorically ‘jumped’ from a cliff after lingering on the edge, gripped by fear. Saying goodbye to familiar goals, visions, and loved ones was daunting; the leap brought a long period of floating in uncertainty. Unsure if I would ever find peace and solid ground, but I did, and I’ve never been happier.
So to anyone standing at a life crossroads, feeling the need to take a daunting leap but paralyzed by fear—I encourage you to do it! The journey might be uncomfortable and scary, but the transformative experience is undeniably worthwhile. Nothing is more painful than remaining in a state you are no longer meant to be in. When we let go, there’s room for what we are truly meant for.

Yesterday, I was on the phone with my younger sister. We talked about our unstoppable drive, always in ‘Yang’ mode. But sometimes, we realize it’s okay to embrace ‘Yin,’ to walk instead of run. Not easy for me. I love being in ‘go’ mode and push myself to the fullest.
This morning, my tea bag shared Lao Tzu’s wisdom, which was such a good reminder for me: ‘Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.’ That’s why I love being in nature – it reminds me to slow down. Maybe some of you can relate. 🌿
